Why does this always get excused? Nobody is born fat they but go to any baptist church service and it's like a before and way before weight watchers commercial.

Proverbs 23:20-21 advises against excessive eating and drinking, and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 encourages believers to honor God with their bodies, as they are temples of the Holy Spirit. Other relevant verses like Proverbs 23:2 and Galatians 5:23 highlight the importance of moderation, self-control, and taking care of one's physical health.

being obese is no different than being a drunk or druggie in my eyes.

Pride, gluttony, all the deadly sins are fine now.

Yep. In addition to living in sin they are a drain on society.

This post is not political. Should be on the O-T or Health & Fitness.

But alcohol and dancing is of the devil.
As a SBC attendee, I have to agree with you. My brother and I have had conversations about how half of the prayer requests in church cover health complications caused by overeating.

It is.

Booze and drugs can be quit and stayed away from altogether because you can live without them.

You can't completely quit food.

Tell me you don't live in one sin or another.

I clocked you on my Sin-o-meter, and you are going 350 in Pride.

It depends on why you are over weight. My mother eats like a bird, but never is able to lose much weight. Because she has hypothyroidism.

I eat way more than her, and I'm pencil thin. My metabolism is either through the roof, or I probably have the opposite thyroid issue. I don't eat a ton, but definitely more than her.

So you can't just paint everyone with the same brush.

Right.

Many want to trot out the 'free will' thing but I think our free will is more limited than we believe.

I am 5'10", 250 lbs (considered obese). I work-out 6 days per week. I am a Christian and follower of Jesus. I don't smoke and have about 1 beer per month.
Besides my weight, all of my health measurables are better than average.
Seems to me, there are maybe other sins that you might want to concentrate on complaining about.

OP picked a sin that doesn't impact him and judges millions of people for it. Very Christian.
