Isn't that more of an alternate logo rather than a change of the primary logo

At least the Cracker Barrel CEO didn't get ahold of it.

I hope so. Otherwise it's gonna be a weird logo to put on the hockey and baseball merch.

The University of Notre Dame Athletics Department has unveiled the first in a series of sports-specific leprechaun marks. As the 2025 Notre Dame Football season begins later this month, the athletic department has released the Football Leprechaun mark that will be followed by more sport-specific marks representing each unique sport in which the Fighting Irish compete at the varsity level

A ploy to sell more merch...because some people won't wear a football specific shirt to a hoops game.

It's not really a ploy. They're not hiding anything. A lot of schools are putting out sport specific merch with their mascot. Oklahoma State has been doing it for a while, but there are others.

Yes, it's to sell more merch, but every single t-shirt they design is done in an effort to sell more merch. Otherwise, they wouldn't make the stuff in the first place.

I'm sure the Leprechaun lobby, Leipreacháin Aontaithe, will be out in full force.

They probably thought the leprechaun that looked like it was about to punch somebody was a symbol of toxic masculinity or something.

I would like to say that I am Leprechaun and I'm proud to be a Leprechaun.

That said, I have never been offended by the Notre Dame Leprechaun logo. Nor have I ever heard another of my Leprechaun family, friends and associates complain about the old Notre Dame Fighting Irish Leprechaun.

They're just doing sport specific alternate logos like Louisville does.

Should have just had him with a bottle of Jameson.

No I didn't. You think that they designed a football only t-shirt to sell other sport specific t-shirts because people won't wear it to other sporting events.

I got your point. I just think it was dumb.

Everything they're doing is to sell more merch. The specific strategies don't matter.
