I see so many light poles leaning over or bending from too much tension. Combine that with a Louisiana thunderstorm and you're out of power.

Doesn’t surprise me. In BR every time it goes down it seems to be at least 12-24 hours to get it back

I'm sure the number is skewed from hurricanes. When half the state is without power for several weeks, that would bump up your average.

Excellent evidence for why we continue to protect Entergy from all wrongdoing and keep letting them charge more and more for BS

Entergy is just so incredible, right? Similar weather, typography, and flora as Florida - but their network is actually maintained.
Energy can't even change street light bulbs when they are required to.

I added it to the OP

That’ll be another fee added to our Entergy bill.

I'm sure the hurricanes the past 20 years didn't help...
My power was out 16 days after Katrina, 10 days after Ida, 5 days after Gustov, 3 days after Zeta.

quote:I wouldn't say the number is "skewed" (distorted from true value), it's just a fact that hurricanes knock out power, often for a long time, and Louisiana's ranking reflects that.

I was at a function today where Landry said that Louisiana is on the precipice of being the best ever. This can't be true.

I thought it was from lack of maintenance and good old La. black jack mud. If Entergy ever did regular maintenance, imagine how much better things would run. Same for La DOTD.

I'm sure this will improve greatly when Facebook builds its datacenter.

Careful. This post may result in a combating negative press recovery fee from Entergy

My power went out 18mins after this was posted...

And Helena Moreno swore up and down those old power lines that Entergy owns will be updated, while being a council woman. You folks in NOLA better pray that a hurricane doesn't sniff the area, because Latoya ain't doing shite now. No leadership whatsoever

That and once it is restored, the infrastructure doesn’t just recover.
