Watch #51 , our highly paid RG, play like a rookie UDFA out of West Armpit College

I'm praying this new guy we picked up in the Bink trade (Luke Fortner) can come in and put Ruiz on the bench. He's not cutting it in this new system and it shows big time.

Ruiz should follow others lead and refund 1/2 of his contract.

Could you please mention which of the plays you are referring to? I watched the whole tape and didn't find anything majorly wrong.

The worst one of that clip seemed to be a play where Banks did not recognize the blitzing linebacker forcing Ruiz onto an island.

In fact, most of the ones where he gave up a little pressure were completed passes.

Almost all of the sacks were from pressure on the right side of the line, not the left.

He's not a hall of famer but there was nothing on that clip that screamed out "cut him right f***ing now."

I saw where #75 kept getting blocked into Ruiz knocking Ruiz off his block.

Once again, McCoy will be the key to the entire league
If he stays healthy he can cover for Ruiz's subpar play

There’s a couple plays where he got pushed into backfield and one play where he whiffed on a block where he was double team the nose but other than that, this isn’t awful tape. A few bad plays but a good amount of plays he did exactly what he was supposed to do

bruh, he didn't cut it in the OLD system... he is just not a good G in the NFL... personally, i think they made a big mistake, way back in the day, keeping McCoy at C and putting him at G... should have been the other way around b/c McCoy CAN play G, and Ruiz is much better at C than G...

but it is what it is... and now we are stuck with it

Yeah, it wasn't some horrendous roll of film like Penning's first few games at RT...

but teams have figured out they can do stunts and our interior line just shits their pants. The only saving grace is that McCoy can hide alot of inferiorities

They’re overreacting but he looked very uncomfortable and off balance at the beginning of the game. Pass rush usually loses steam as the game goes on and you can see the Ruiz and the O-line settle in. Ruiz slipped on a few plays as well. That turf was horrible

Not the best vid to make your point. He looked mediocre.

Shough looked quite competent though. Not a world beater, but it's early.

This. He won some, got beat on some, and did just enough on some. He still definitely has room for improvement, but the hate he's getting is not justified.

His worst play was the 3rd down drown by Olave where he whiffed but it had zero impact on the play.

The stunt blitz you have to credit to the defense for great execution. Ruiz was on his man until he got blindsided by another defender knocking him off, if anyone deserves blame on that one it was Fuaga for not getting enough push on the DE to get him off his path.

Ruiz is the left guard. Doesn't matter which way the camera shows it.
