When Patterson’s coach forgot Kenny Hilliard was on the team in the 2nd half in the Dome in 2010.

Evangel killing everybody for 10 years straight. They still won plenty for more than 10 years, but for those 10 years, they would win somehow, someway, every time. Ask west monroe.

Parkview Baptist beating Redemptorist so bad that they closed the school. RIP the GOAT Kenny Guillot

My uncle team at Carroll beat West Monroe in 93 their first year winning state… it was Carroll’s homecoming… needless to say the Bulldogs weren’t on the schedule the next 25 years… although we did played them in 7th-8th grade and freshman my years in jr.high and high school

It truly was magical how that tiny 1A school in Shreveport somehow had a football team with 80+ players who were bigger and/or faster than everyone they played, 5A powerhouses included.

Redemptorist brought in Sid Edward’s and he quickly brought success to a mediocre program. The atmosphere at the Rock during those Edward’s/Mistretta years was very cool.
I know enrollment went through the floor in its last years but RHS was a power during its heyday

One of the memories that sticks out most to me from HS is our quarterfinal game at The Rock against Hill/Collins leading into that aforementioned game boat brought up. Place was rocking and the atmosphere was electric.

Craig Steltz famous second half performance to come back and beat Jesuit.
quote:
On October 31, 2003, against district rival Jesuit High School, Steltz rushed for 170 yards in the second half on seven carries and scored three touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter to lead the Raiders to a 38–27 victory

TNT was 1 of the best QB to WR combos in Prep History, but both were non-factors in college.

I played for Live Oak basically 2007 only. Our RB slipped on a shoe in TD against Donaldsonville. To this day, I swear if he didn't slip we would have gone to the playoffs. Just ruined the entire season. He was a good guy, better FB player than me by far, just bad luck.

RHS just needed to hang on for another 15 years or so. RHS was still open I think it would be doing fine these days.

They were getting GEDs. They literally majored in football. Wish I knew that was an option when I was in HS.

Until St. Aug went up there and put a whooping on them in the 01' quarter finals. Im not even going to lie, I thought we were going to get our asses kicked. Lol. That 01' team beat Airline, Hahnville, and Evangel on the road until West Monroe came into Gormley.

Sugar Prep Classic 03 Evangel and John Curtis both got upset in their title games. Hahnville and Redimptorist came to play that weekend.

86-87 Bucky Richardson. Biggest player on Broadmoor HS team of 22-24 players playing QB and running veer. One of best athletes I’ve ever seen. Brian Mitchell Plaquemine HS and Andre Mitchell Tara HS same time frame. Incredible athletes.
