Central football had been plagued by the good ole boy network of coaches forever and hit a grand slam with Simoneaux.
Zachary on the other hand has been a local power for a while.
B.R. area public schools have not seen big time success at the 4A-5A level so it’s nice to see neighboring cities doing well

Redemptorist brought in Sid Edward’s and he quickly brought success to a mediocre program. The atmosphere at the Rock during those Edward’s/Mistretta years was very cool.
I know enrollment went through the floor in its last years but RHS was a power during its heyday

My daughter has played both with and against her for many years. Super humble kid from a great family
Doyle has the Savant kid, Very good catcher (UH Commit), was an LSU commit for a while

Same guy whose defense got gutted by Central in the Superdome?
Definitely from Baker, Lives in Central now, Standup Guy!

Agree 100% these kids are all going to hitting coaches and spend much more time on the travel ball circuit than with their HS team
Thiings have gotten stale the last few years and the addition of 2 of the best programs in the nation isn’t going to help.
Although St. Amant may be a very good local team, I would hope LSU could atttact some prominent names

Curious move, will be interesting to see how he does.

I think Simoneaux has found a sweet spot for a while. He came in as an outsider and not the good ole boy that Central has been accustomed to. He also does a great job of being involved in the commmunity but not to the point that every Dad with a bone to pick feels like he has access.
Relax big guy, He Went to same school as my kid. I was only pointing out that all public’s in the BR area lose kids to other schools

Anybody care to guess where Catholic’s starting QB lives?
But to that point, Live Oak has a Stud softball player living in the heart of Central…
The pendulum swings both ways

Baker went to the dome in 2001…ISD began operating in 2003
Great insight, never thought of the AP talent getting poached so regularly
