I know kids will be kids, but is character evaluation still a part of CBK’s recruitment process?

At Notre Dame; he only had one kid charged with a felony in 12 years. Now at LSU he has 3 (Holly, Lacey, Lindsey) in 3 years.

This is a very shiny hook. Kelly isn’t to blame.

Considering how many kids have come through the program in those 3 years I think having only 3 is pretty good.

He can't be by everyone's side 24/7 to make sure they make the right decisions in every circumstance. But by in large he's had pretty good character guys at LSU.

I think the regions he is now recruiting in are slightly different than that of NDs. The academic standards alone made it hard for BK to go into places and recruit the level of athelets needed to win.

I think it’s just bad luck

Notre Dame's entrance requirements are much different than a public state university.

Most of these kids don’t have bad character. A lot of them grow up in areas where they have old friends that end up being hood rats and they get caught up in it.

If we only had a time machine to evaluate future mistakes.

It's more about the entrance restrictions Notre Dame had.

These kids are THE exception…have any idea how hard it is to make an SEC team? Most well spoken 6’7” 350 lb kids you’ve ever heard. Scary how soft spoken some of them are. Calculated and very well put together. Was the biggest shock to me…my son’s whole team is going to mass today.

No one gives a shite about character and no one ever has. Can you run fast? Can you jump high? Sign here

Lindsey must have skipped the question on the character assessment that said “would you willingly aid and abed murderers in your dorm room?” So CBK clearly never would have known

Not one person ever interviewed about Lindsey would’ve even hesitated to refer to him as a high character young man. Believe it if you will, but it’s fact.

As I’ve stated before. He has done something terribly stupid, and as facts come out they will reinforce a terrible criminal decision or a mistake. In any case, his actions were entirely unpredictable, and he will pay the appropriate penalty.

The background of kids going to ND vs the kids going to LSU aren’t even remotely the same. It’s like asking why more catholic school kids go to college on academic scholarships than public school kids.

Notre Dame, Stanford, Rice and the military academies seem to have fewer off-the-field issues than mediocre public universities.
