I was curious, so I pulled up the average daily high temp by zipcode for my zip in Ascension Parish. I realize this isn't in agreement with the current forecast but it's great news to me.

Lat week a July and first week of August are always the hottest unless we get rain. Of course 2023 did not get the memo and it was intolerable until mid Sept. This year seems to be just about average so far.

I think we’re still running a few degrees over “average” but it sure felt like a break. I shouldn’t type this and jinx it, but have we had any official 100 degree days in the BR metro this year?

Dallas area has been relatively mild as well. We usually have lows that are in the 80s, but that has not happened this summer. Long range forecast has no 100 degree days.

dunno, but we were in Japan from July 18th to Aug 1st and it was pretty much 95 degrees with hardly any cloud cover, and more humidity than here...

having to walk and sight see in that shite was excruciating... we basically just stayed soaked in sweat all day, everyday.... it really put a damper on the entire vacation b/c it was just so unpleasant all day, every day...

i'm sure it was similar here, but yeah, it was almost unbearable

I believe it. Yes it’s been miserably hot, but surprisingly nights have been quite pleasant. This week in particular I was walking outside in the mornings to cool for summer temps. It’s been quite nice when the sun isn’t out

This summer has been great. Rain has kept the oppressing heat at bay for many days. Sure, we’ve had some hot days, but we haven’t had a long continuous streak of them. No need to water my lawn this summer. Entergy never went out unexpectedly due to heat waves. It’s been a good summer.

If you're in south Louisiana and experienced the past two Summers that were straight from the pits of Hell anything close to normal would seem unusual. Baton Rouge finished July running a degree above Normal for the daytime and nighttime highs. The biggest thing is that the nighttime highs were actually reasonable. Hot weather is the worst when you get no relief at night, and you all didn't get that these past two Summers.

You read all the Internet info that says exactly that and thought "it can't be that bad" and it was

Now you know why everyone goes no later than May and doesn't come back until the fall.

This past week was the mildest I can remember for early August, at least since I moved to Pcola. I walked outside yesterday at 6 am and dare I say that it felt cool.

August here in Atlanta has been cool as frick.

And I've loved every minute of it.

We did have quite a few hot days in June and July, touched 100 in Atlanta about 2.5 weeks ago, but since then it's been mild. Seems like summer was front-loaded this year.

We just had our latest “first 100 degree day” since like 1923 or something in Wichita.

As a coach about to start season in a week I am very happy/hopeful we’re not going to be railroaded by hot weather.

I hate to be the one to say it, but . . . .

That drop is partly attributable to tropical storms and hurricanes.

Where I am, it looks like the lows are dropping but the highs are steady.
