Jack pyburn in his interview yesterday called him a complete freak show and I agree. Dude is a legit 6’6 305 with special movement skills. I think Kyle Williams’s attack penetration style he wants out his DT’s will lead to this kid thriving. Imo he’s gonna become what we expected maason smith to be

I thinj he becomes a Michael Brockers.

He is just so big and that frame can put on even more good weight.

he looks like a beast

He was starting to come on after recovering from injury late in the season. Can't wait to see him this year with a year under his belt. Expect dominant performances from him.

We’ll need some depth. Hopefully breaux continues to develop - only listed at 278.
Can we get something from Shone Washington?? Veteran

Damn, Shone still on the team, he has been a disappointment so far.

Apparently the Texas transfer Sydir Mitchell has been strong for us all offseason big body who can move should help stopping the run, guilloty will also be back healthy, the south Florida transfer is a good player, freshmen Zion Williams is apparently flashing a ton another big body at 6’5 330.

This is the kind of thing the LSU D-Line has been missing for far too long, hope this young man explodes this year.

I'm not sure why he stuck around honestly. He will probably be our 5th or 6th (at best) DT this season. I know he was good buds with Jahkeem Stewart and thought he was maybe sticking around because he would come here but he chose USC and I'm surprised he didnt portal somewhere else at that point.

Unless Guillory is a no go this year and another DT gets hurt I dont see much playing time for Washington at all.

Those who did not see the progress he made during the season last year were not paying attention.

People forget that the 2011 defense had a decent number of question marks going into the season. I am not saying 2025 will be 2011 good but guys CAN step up and be good even if they haven't done it before.

going into 2011:

1) DL had to replace Drake Nevis at DT and Kenrick Adams at DE. They had Josh downs coming back but he wasn't a superstar.

- Sam Montgomery was coming off of ACL surgery and only played afew games as a RS FR before being injured.

- KeKe Mingo was athletic but didn't have many skins on the wall either

- Michael Brockers was a RS FR so he was a complete unnown.

- Bennie Logan was a 3 star recruit that no one saw coming.

2) LB Had to replace Kelvin Shepherd.

- Ryan Baker was a special teams phenom but never showed out on D very much.

- Kevin Minter didn't play as a FR so we didn't know if he would be good.

- Stephon Francois was never a big play maker, just a guy that did his job.

3) S - We had to replace Craig Loston. This group was probably the most known commodity we had.

- We got Brandon Taylor back and he was a known commodity.

- Eric Reid played well towards the end of his FR year so we thought he would be good.

4) CB - We had to replace Patrick Peterson. This was still a room we felt good about though.

- Honeybadger was great as FR but no one knew that he would be the greatest defensive player in LSU history.

- Mo Claiborne was good in 2010 but I don't think anyone saw him being as dominant as he was in 2011.

- Tharold Simon and Ron Brooks were relative unknowns as well.

Point is, that a lot of players had to step up and that season, they ALL did. IMO, we have more proven players going into 2025 than we had in 2011 thanks to the portal. Its just about getting them to play as a team.

You could already see it last year in spurts. Now he’s a starter. He’s going to be a load to handle inside.

If he is as good as Mike Brockers we'll be toasting another national title come next January.

Mitchell & Williams aren’t on the initial 2 deep depth chart. But hopefully they can contribute this season.

Source? Everything I have seen shows Mitchell running second team. But I guess if Guillory is healthy, he may be third. Either way, seems like good depth.

I think/hope this year we finally get a deep D-line rotation. The past few years have been slim and I feel like that’s been the difference in the defense.

Dom’s about to make folks forget Maason ever existed. Freak size, freak motor, and he’s finally in a system that won’t neuter that. If he stays healthy, we’re looking at a real problem for O-lines
