We seem politically stuck investing in solar, hydro, wind, and ocean waves, but all of these have major limitations. Other options, such as Biomass, Geothermal, and Hydrogen, likewise have their issues.

Nuclear fission and nuclear fusion are capable of meeting our growing energy needs, but they also pose risks.

All the above.

I'm for a diverse portfolio.

Don't go all in on one technology.

This and for now, only this.

Need to get over the risks and just keep progressing the species.

Nuclear fusion with possibly fission in the meantime.

Neither real soon.

Nuclear. Everything else is a scam.

Removing heat from the Earths core is a bad idea for geothermal. This would a accelerate climate change as the core will cool faster. Think of what canals did to the marsh.

Oil & Gas
Maybe a thousand years from now they will have figured out that the Sun's energy is free and will figure out how to "Really" harness it's free power. Until then......Black Gold!

Nuclear.

Because of data centers and AI stuff, a failed nuclear project in SC is looking to be taken back up.

quote:

South Carolina is exploring the possibility of restarting its stalled V.C. Summer Nuclear Station project to power the state's growing data center industry, particularly with the increased demand driven by artificial intelligence.

Santee Cooper, the state-owned utility, is seeking private sector proposals to acquire and complete the partially built reactors.

This initiative is driven by the need for reliable, high-capacity, and zero-carbon energy sources to support the energy-intensive demands of data centers.

Love it or hate it- the need for energy for data centers and AI will drive reliable energy production- so there's that to look forward to.

As was said above, we have to get over the fear of nuclear power.

Nuclear fusion is the long term answer. In the short term we should be investing in fission and then diversifying amongst the rest. Solar continues getting cheaper at a crazy rate compared to expectations.

Reliable, clean burning coal.

And the leftsts in the ovens above the coals, so there will be a hippie odor.

The cheapest and most widely available.

Natural gas and coal are still cheaper than all other forms of fuel.
