Iconic Hooters restaurant in Augusta, GA has permanently closed

This is the location on Washington Rd. where John Daly would park his bus and hangout during the Masters. It was 1 mile from the course.
Perhaps some of you might have stopped by there during the tournament as well.
The struggling Hooters chain is closing locations all over.

I saw big John drill about a 30 footer one handed with a heater in his mouth against some tourist there. Then went to the bikini contest/memorabilia auction. RIP, gone too soon.

There is, or used to be, a poster here on TD that manages a Hooters. Hope he has another job lined up somewhere.

Been a long time since I’ve been to a Hooters, probably at least 15 years. And even back then the talent working there was very disappointing. The food wasn’t good either. Not a good combination. I think it has more to do with you not needing to go to Hooters to see skanky servers who flirt with the customers.

Hooters in Metairie stays crowded. Everytime I read about them closing I laugh at how crowded that one gets.

He’s sponsored by Hooters and they paid him to be there to attract customers. He also sold merch. And knowing Daly, that figure is probably exaggerated
