Is Tigerland and the area across Nicholson from it considered generally safe?

Have seen threads on it needing to be redeveloped. But not much on safety.

If half of TD thinks you'll get murdered if you go downtown, they must think Tigerland is worse than Gaza.

It's called Tigerland because there are large predators all over it

A lot of the units in there have gone section 8 rather than student housing and brought the problems that go along with section 8 with it.

In the mid to late 80's I lived on Brighside View and it was the place to be as a LSU student.

Now, I wouldn't live there for free. So, the answer is NO, it is not safe.

Service worker here. Telecom. Take it FWIW, but that's an area of town where we have to go in teams. They'll send my white arse into north BR solo, but for "some" reason, corporate believes we need a buddy to work in Tigerland.

Let’s just say that 99% of the people that live there now have no idea who Bob Pettit or Alvin Dark were.
They need to change the name of that neighborhood. it’s not Tigerland anymore.

In college we affectionally referred to Jennifer Jean b/t Nicholson and Burbank as the Gaza Strip. And it wasnt even that bad back then.

Well yeah, and the neighborhood behind Bon Marche Mall was very safe when I lived there in 1975.
There has been a demographic shift in certain neighborhoods over the decades.
