Interesting, was just traded to be the backup to Joker in Denver. Great guy, hate that his family has had to move around so much the past year or so.

Sucks to be the Nuggets and trade for him, only for him to leave. I wonder who if JV dislikes Jokic or someone else on the Denver squad.

If they offer him similar money on multiple years, I can see why he'd leave. JV's contract is nongarunteed in his final year after this season.

He knows he's going to be a minimum guy after this contract is up. So if the Greek team is offering him some good money, he should definitely look to leave.

He'll probably play more and be appreciated a hell of a lot more over there, and he'll probably dominate, on top of making more money and being closer to home.

All about being a starter. Jonas is a starting center in the league and feels like he shouldn’t be coming off the bench. Can’t blame him

Seems like it won’t be so simple for him to go, and Denver can block him from going.

Looks like his situation could screw up Sacramento’s entire offseason

Damn. Denver was stacking their bench too.

That team with cam johnson was looking better.

Yeah you have to really sell JV that they have a legit shot at the championship. I think he would be great behind Jokic and along side Jokic.

Plus...Nuggets have Holmes, rookie last year that blew out his achilles first game of Summer League...PF/C type...that they really missed last year...to give Joker some rest...instead of having to use DeAndre Jordan...who I'm prettty sure... just turned 62 years old.

It’s impossible to root against this guy. I wish him nothing but the best in his future. He was the ideal teammate, completely unselfish and tough as nails. He was an iron man for us playing almost every single game, much of the time with injuries that kept others on the team out for weeks but Jonas wasn't a pussy and played his arse off every night. It’s a damn shame we have a dipshit coach that didn’t understand what he had in JV and sat him for 6’8” Larry Nance Jr. I would love to have him on this young squad to be a guy that helps teach our 3 young bigs in Missi, Queen and Karlo to be the best players that they can be. Good luck Jonas, you were truly a role model for other players to watch and learn from.

100% agree with all of this

Jonas was a favorite of mine. Good team player and there were many games when he saved our asses.

Jonas should have been a lifelong Pelican after we got him.from.Memphis. He was arguably the best player in the Griff era (availability matters) and we let him walk for $10M a year. Dude singlehandedly kept our sorry asses afloat while Zion slap dicked around 75% of the time instead of punching in for work.

We let him walk because Willie was convinced that Nance was the better closing option, all based on one stupid play-in game against the Clippers

Can’t upvote this enough. I’m really starting to believe that something nauseating is happening between Willie and Gayle

Unreal. No, JV was a crummy defender. Any PG worth his salt would simply run pick-and-roll and expose JV every single play for his slow feet in drop coverage, and any PG with a floater could simply get easy baskets at will. JV literally could not jump and was a poor shot-blocker.

On offense, JV was always the last one down the court. He's so slow that he can barely walk sometimes, much less run. On a team with other players who excel in transition (CJ, Herb, Trey, Zion), JV was a liability. When we'd get into our offensive sets two seconds later every time because of the time that it took JV to get down the court, that would end up resulting in more last-second prayer shots at the end of the shot clock.
