I think I'm becoming numb to the global chaos, death, destruction and societal decay.

I'm still hopeful the world as a collective will find some common good and decency but currently there's not much to be encouraged about.

Imagine the day when you watch the news or read a newspaper and the majority of the news is about positive and uplifting human interest stories vs reports of murders, violent crimes, global military conflicts, corrupt politicians, lawyers and judges, sick pedophile teachers, preachers and priests, greedy corporate executives, crooked cops and on and on.

If you don't think you're living in a fallen world I would like to recommend a great book that explains it all.......The Holy Bible.

It's my daily source for comfort and understanding in this troubled world, it's a must read. In the Bible the Greatest Teacher who ever walked the earth shares His wisdom, compassion and knowledge with those who are seeking the Truth.

quote:

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

When you pray, pray for humility, pray for wisdom, pray for sanctification and obedience to the Creator, and above all pray for the unsaved, that they will hear the Good News and receive their salvation. Salvation that Jesus Christ through much anguish and pain unselfishly provided to all who seek the Truth. And pray for those who have rejected our Savior and instead have chosen the world. Pray they have a change of heart, soul and mind and they seek to be born again as brothers and sisters in Christ.

I wish I could find faith in this world, but I've resigned myself to not giving a shite about anyone or anything. Your way is probably better, though.

If you're a believer, what the hell are you worried about?

Continuing to vote in this UniParty® charade and continuing to get John McCain no matter who you vote for will do that to a man.

Share your fatigue Bass. Hard to believe how far we have fallen. All these things were predicted in that book you mentioned....over two thousand years ago.

What's being a "believer" got to do with not enjoying seeing your planet devolve into extreme greed and retardation?

Thanks to my faith, I've found balance in appreciating what good we have in the world while at the same time understanding that man is inherently evil and that the world is heading toward its eventual unraveling. It might sound cynical, but it's the honest truth, and it coincides with what Scripture says, so it actually offers comfort.

Faith in God, not man, possessions or government, is what is solid and consistent.

I'm sincerely not worried about my salvation, I simply stated I feel like I'm becoming numb to the troubles of the world. I think the Holy Spirit is working in heart, mind and soul of millions of Believers, encouraging them to turn their concerns away from the troubled world and to focus on the Kingdom to come and to share the Gospel with as many people as possible....the time for harvest may be winding down.

I’ll add seeing Europe lose its mind, bad behavior being praised and normalized, and responsibility and consequences not being accounted for by many losers.

I mean, this is what the Steven Pinker books are about. You have the illusion that this is some grandly violent/negative time, when in fact it's likely - TODAY - the very least violent period in the history of mankind.

quote:

Imagine the day when you watch the news or read a newspaper and the majority of the news is about positive and uplifting human interest stories vs reports of murders, violent crimes
Or, just imagine the day when you STOP reading the newspaper. You would have no idea any of those things was going on and your life would be calm and non-violent.

Technology has reached a point where we are just constantly bombarded with news and information. It is important to have information, but I sometimes feel it is too much too fast and cannot be properly processed.

Sometimes you just have to disconnect for awhile, and enjoy the small things in life.
