Three Washington girls who were reported missing last week were found dead Monday, and a search is now ongoing for the girls’ father, police have announced.
The girls were discovered just before 4 p.m. local time after detectives in Chelan County, Washington, gathered information that led them to search an area around Leavenworth, where they hoped to find the girls and their father, Travis Decker, police said.
A Chelan County Forest Service deputy located Decker’s vehicle in a remote area and then found the girls, who were deceased. Police said that Decker was nowhere to be found.

Decker joined the Army in 2013 and transferred to the Washington National Guard in 2021, according to a spokesperson with the Washington Military Department. He was a full-time member of the National Guard until he reportedly switched to part-time around 2023 ot 2024.
Washington Military Department spokesperson Karina Shagren told the Associated Press that Decker had stopped attending mandatory monthly drills about one year ago. The National Guard was reportedly in the process of a disciplinary discharge for him.
Police said that Decker is homeless and lives in his vehicle or various hotels, motels or campgrounds.

The three sisters were last seen around 5 p.m. on May 30, when they left home with their father. Their mother eventually reported around 8 p.m. that Decker did not return them after a planned visit, according to police.
A detective said the girls’ mother “expressed concern because Decker reportedly has never done this before and … is currently experiencing some mental health issues.”
Capt. Brian Chance said, “What prompted her to call us was that … he was late returning the girls and had not communicated to her that he was going to be late, which was his typical fashion and so this was out of the ordinary.”
Authorities spent the entire weekend looking for the children and Decker, eventually finding his unoccupied truck near a campground on Monday. The girls’ bodies were found about 100 yards away from the truck, but Decker was nowhere to be seen.
Police believe that the girls died from asphyxiation, according to court documents. They were allegedly found with their wrists zip-tied.

He has to have pre-planned it. What does a homeless guy need with zip ties and plastic bags? Those aren't things he needs or could find at a primitive camp site.
That makes him even more evil.
Those girls' poor Mother.

Man those pics of the girls sent daggers through my chest. Damn.
I realize this dude may have mental issues, but frick killing your children, man. That's the fricking worst thing you can do. I can't imagine the emotions the mother is going through.

I saw this story the other day. First of all:
But then:
So it was a PLANNED VISIT with their dad, who lives in a fricking car?
"Come on, honey. I want to take the girls out on a nice, family outing. And I live in a car."
These poor girls never had a chance.

I was wondering about that too. How can you have visitation rights when you don’t even have an address? That can’t be normal.

What makes it even worse is that mom knew:

I agree 100%. No home...no visits.
Child welfare people make insane decisions like this all over the country all the time. Common sense would save so many lives.

It says he picked them up at 5pm and she reported they weren't returned at 8pm.
So evidently he was only supposed to take them for 2ish hours.
Not as weird as if they were supposed to spend the night like everyone is insinuating.

We need a board for this type of stuff so that I can completely ignore it.

Washington state does not have the death penalty. In April 2023, Governor Jay Inslee signed SB 5087, which formally abolished capital punishment in the state and removed provisions for capital punishment from state law.

Hopefully, he is found and put to death. But before and after his death, he needs to be studied very carefully to determine what went wrong with his brain. Something this evil has to be diagnosed, so we can learn how to treat it before it happens to someone else.
