Example 1: Gary Sinise plays Lieutenant Dan and then goes on to be an advocate for veterans and children affected by war.
Example 2: Tom Hanks plays Astronaut Jim Lovell and then goes on to be the voice of NASA history.

Jim Carrey almost went insane playing Andy Kaufman if all the stories are true.

I mentioned this in the Silence of the Lambs thread a few days ago, but Ted Levine mentioned in interviews that playing Buffalo Bill really messed with his head.
Apparently Billy Bob and Angelina divorced because BBT put the pipe to Halle Berry in Monster's Ball...if you believe the rumors...

quote:I don’t think the film changed him. He was a huge space buff before the film, which is part of the reason he was cast (same with WWII and SPR).
Tom Hanks plays Astronaut Jim Lovell and then goes on to be the voice of NASA history.
He parlayed the success of those films into many other related projects, but he was already heavily invested in the subject matters.

I don't think anyone has been as impacted as this, honestly.
And I mean for the betterment of society and not just a career.

I watched The Insider the other night, and I thought he was excellent.

Didn't the lady from the original Shining Movie kind of lose it after that film?

Yeah but that was allegedly due to Kubrick's treatment of her.

Kubrick's
Speaking of Kubrick seems the movie "Eye Wide Shut" had an effect on Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. The movie came out in 1999. They were divorced in 2001. Maybe no correlation. They seemed different when being interviewed about the movie.

Heath Ledger being in Batman had to have sent him on a downward spiral.
