Everything unpopular any company has been wanting to do is going to be blamed on "tariffs".

so they put this in writing?

FTC and DOJ penalties should be incoming for something akin to unfair trade practices and misrepresentation.

follow the law assholes.... if a judge lets them.

The paper products are likely US sourced, but I could see the dyes, adhesives, and that glittery shite they put on some cards coming from China.

But yea, this is just some combination of political grandstanding, "get Trump", and "let's grow our purple-haired and pierced market share".

You're fricking Hallmark. Stick to cards with inane messages and shitty Christmas movies.

Hallmark was already overpriced bullshite. You can buy books $20, but a damn Hallmark greeting card is $5-6! Few things approach the level of wasting your money like buying a Hallmark card.

Corporations have learned they can raise prices and blame it on any event. They did it in Covid blaming the supply chain but guess what once the supply chain was fixed prices never came down.

Everyone will try to raise prices and blame tariffs. It’s all bullshite just to make an extra dollar without the backlash

Do you think Americans can make greeting cards ever again?!?!

Do you know how long it would take us to retool factories for that?!?!

I’ve no doubt companies are going to take advantage of this as she says, but are all of the materials US sourced as well?

I’ve no idea, but if a lot of the materials are imported that could be driving the price, too. Seems like Hallmark should’ve explained that better and that would be an easy thing to verify by the proper authorities.

Her points are very valid but she definitely could have gotten them across in less than 6 and a half minutes.

Now do the dollar store! At covid and with 7% inflation, they raised prices 25%...

Now they are just redefining their "dollar store" to carry items for $7 and other prices...

I went there to buy cheap laundry crap and dish soap but if they are now priced the same or near the same as others...screw them.

I doubt all the inks and whatever else goes into their manufacturing is all sourced domestically.

There’s a high probability that the paper their cards are made on comes from lumber from canada.

Even if a US company manufactures a good within the country, if they have to import the resources to make it, tariffs can still create a hit.

Not saying for sure this is what’s happening… only that there is nothing in that wall street apes writeup which rules it out as a possibility.

The list of new prices says “ornaments “. I’m pretty sure all those Christmas ornaments are probably made overseas

So Hallmark freely acknowledges that they are in bed with the Communist (Fascist actually) Chinese government.

I wish I actually bought their overpriced crap so I could boycott them. But, I don’t buy overpriced crap no matter its origins.
