Why women travel to remote locations without someone is beyond me? How was he only charged with 2nd degree murder? Anyone who ends another life in that manner needs to be put down immediately. RIP young lady.

From the looks of that guy I don’t think it was his first murder either

Online info says she met him at 5 am and there were happy ending connotations to the appointment.
Total scumbag. But if that's legit, that's a sad danger these girls face.

Yes it was known that she was a happy ending massage therapist. Pretty sure her “boy friend” “pimp” was like coffee. Cute girl in a risqué profession.

old school reference. What a tragic loss, innocent young girl.
Incredible that the prosecutors were able to build a case, and hold Skakel accountable. For a while.

It's just as incredible how that case ended. His claims of an unfair trial were rejected at all levels, then he lost by one vote in the Connecticut Supreme Court. But then a judge retired and the governor appointed a Kennedy flunky as his replacement, who took the seat, then voted on a "rehearing" in Skakel's favor.

The old DA had retired, and the new one decided not to take Skakel to trial a second time.

I haven’t studied Louisiana criminal law in about 30 years, but if I recall correctly, first degree in the State requires some specific statutory circumstances.

Not that it matters-and it doesn’t make it any less tragic-but the location is a heavily traveled, well populated area with several subdivisions; she may have felt that it was relatively safe.

?? You mean take to trial for 1st degree? He's in prison, right (hopefully)?

And is it life w/out parole?

Sometimes I wish we had Singapore's laws regarding capital murder. I know 2nd degree isn't capital, but sure wish it could be.

It's one of the nicer areas of Denham... not that that's saying much.
BTW... Somebody bought that house a while back and fixed it up. Looks really nice now.

I went to school my entire life with Harrison. Seemed obvious that dude and his family certainly had their issues. I definitely recall him having to move back and forth to Alaska numerous times or something for awhile.

NO. You wait. Are you telling us you know for a fact no family you're friends with has a wayward family member?
