Clydestyn "Ace" Tipton got a new baseball glove

My son recently hit a growth spurt and outgrew his baseball glove. He's ready for a big boy glove.
I was shopping for new ones and thought, let me look at some used ones on Ebay. Surely there are some hardly used but already started to break in. You know, some kids just can't cut it on the travel ball circuit.
I see one that is the same brand as my glove, and I think, what are the odds I can find my exact glove but left handed? You see Clydestyn will be the next Randy Johnson, Clayton Kershaw or Tom Glavin. A real left handed dealer.
I say all that to show you this...
Mine is my original glove on the left (Left handed glove, right handed thrower), and his is the glove on the right (Right handed glove, left handed thrower).
Yeah, I know. I should have bought him a kangaroo Nocona, but he has always admired my glove when playing catch. I thought it was cool to find a match to make a set.
Pretty good shape for a 32+ year old glove.

What’s the question here?

Cool. I hope he plays well with it this weekend, wins some bling, and you get to beat the shite out of an umpire

How cool is it that I found my exact glove, but left handed in Miami, FL? You know, the home of Skip Bertman...

My Mizuno high school glove from the 90s is still in pretty good shape but I bought my kid an A2000. Now I feel like a bad dad.

A matching set is just how I sold Clydestyn on the glove.
The truth is, I was on a money saving quest. I paid $25 including shipping on Ebay for it.

I had a similar glove years ago but my stepson stole it and sold it for meth.

Somehow my glove when I was a kid got misplaced or thrown away probably 20+ years ago, I never even considered this. Off to scour Ebay. It was a black Rawlings with Darryl Strawberry's signature. My youngest just started tee ball and I was thinking that I need to get a glove to throw with the kids, I'll go this route instead.

And that is why I really started this thread. My son does not play travel ball. He recently started showing an interest in baseball since I’ve been watching LSU play and all he had was an old T-ball glove. I figured this was the best route instead of going to Academy and spending too much money on something he may not pursue

12 1/2" glove, this him?

I went through an old box last week to get some HS memorabilia out for a reunion. I found my old catchers mitt which was last used in 1991. It looked the same as the day I put it in the box 30+ years ago.
