FYI if you have a global entry card that will work. I never travel with mine but it’s about to go into my wallet for future travel.

Military ID (active or retired)
Just about any federally issued ID will work.
You can still fly if you dont have it, you just get the treatment at TSA. Look in your bag, ask you a couple of questions.

I want to sit at MSY all day on Wednesday and see what pops off when people get turned away at TSA when they don't have a Real ID. lol.

Each workday, I drive by one of those places where you pay to get a license. For the past few weeks, I've noticed the line getting longer and longer (I drive by around 8:00 AM). Of course the line is huge today. I did notice a lot of people in that line that looked like they couldn't afford bus fare, much less an airplane ticket. I'm curious if the Real ID will be required for other things like food stamps.

Some slapdick kid wouldn't sell me a bottle of wine at Whole Foods many years ago because my driver's license had expired the day before, so after driving home to get it, I've carried it in my wallet ever since.
A year or so ago, I switched to exclusively using that at airports because I got tired of the TSA agents browbeating me about needing Real ID

My admin went in this morning (moved from NY and had to change to a TN drivers license). It took her about 20 minutes. I'm amazed. If there had been a board on it, I would have picked 3 hours.
