Jörg Bergmeister takes the GT3 manual gearbox and Weissach package around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, setting the fastest lap time for a production 3 pedal car: 6:56.294 for the 20,832 meter track length. 6:51.764 for the 20,600 meter length. To put that in perspective, the C8 Z06 did the 'Ring in 7:10.5.

Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake! Now me and the mad scientist gotta rip apart the block, and replace the piston rings you fried.

Weissach, named for the home of Porsche's development center. Your friend's car is a 992.1 GT3 RS, this car is the 992.2 GT3. The 992.2 3RS will likely be on sale later this year and my guess is it will be ~10 seconds faster than the GT3 in the video benefiting from the PDK, more downforce, and higher adjustability.

The 3RS is one of the closest thing to a race car for the street that you can buy from a major manufacturer.

As awesome as a machine they are I just can't lust for a 992 RS. They just keep getting bigger and more complicated. I only do a little track and a couple mountain driving trips a year and to me my 991.2 3RS is just the right amount. I think i'll die with it or just one day get too old to drive it. I plan on adding a 4RS sooner than later and just enjoy those for the rest of my days.

Its so amazing that the drivers look like they're out on a regular Sunday drive while absolutely ripping arse around that big nasty track.

THAT was fun to watch. I don't care how fast the new tech is, a real drivers car like this is so much more fun to watch / listen to.

I'm always amazed at the lack of runoff at that place and how close the armco is to the track most of the way around.

Better have cat like reflexes and incredible processing skills driving at those speeds, hit 292 mph at the end of the long straight away.

Nothing tops the dude 35 years ago piloting the Yellowbird around that same track.

None of the modern amenities, just raw speed and skill, wearing no safety gear whatsoever. Probably had flip flops.

The 3RS has become super complicated. I think if someone does enough trackwork and is good enough to get near to exploting a 3RS the better solution is a T, GTS, Turbo S, or GT 3 Touring (depending on what you value in a daily) and get a Cup car. There are plenty of Cup cars for sale all the time and if you can get the team you buy it from to sell you their used tires it is a plus because, unless you have at least a bronze FIA license, they have plenty of grip left for multiple hot lap sessions. Plus it would be cool to own an actual race car.

I'm not knocking the Porsche as I'd take it over the Z06 if both options were available to me, but one of those costs twice as much as the other.
