I think it should be scaled based on economics and health but essentially set up that you have to buy whole foods with the SNAP. A whole chicken, fressh fruit and vegetables are fully subsidized. Boneless skinless chicken breast is 85% covered. Junk food is are 10% covered. I'd also allow non food essentials like diapers and tampons.
SNAP currently encourages people to be unhealthy.

Good. I don’t mind a cold pop from time to time, but I can’t even justify buying a bottle of water most of the time I’m out, can easily be over $2 after tax. That’s how you go broke, never mind the needless sugar.
My point is I make a conscious decision to drink water because it’s a smart long term financial decision, and I doubt I’m alone. In this sense, SNAP recipients aren’t in need of a “supplement”

They can use the money they made by working to buy whatever they want. You want to buy unhealthy stuff, use your money.
I’m all for setting up small food locations where only snap users can shop and the only foods sold are good healthy options. Ban snap usage at gas stations and convenience stores.

You're more generous than me.
Beans, rice, fruits, veggies, milk, and oatmeal.
Food stamps should be at a level where it is enough to keep you living but bad enough that you don't want to be on it forever.
It's meant to be a lifeline and not something you are supposed to be on forever.

Y'all ever hear how they get boiled seafood with their food stamps? The boilers in the ghetto have freezers to place them in for a few seconds so they're technically "frozen" foods
