The Rookie

After seeing a few clips of the show here and there, I decided to try and watch The Rookie on Hulu. I'm three episodes in and so far, it's okay. There are seven seasons. What is the boards opinion on the show? Which seasons are the best?
I know that the show has to have a lot of action to pull you in, but it seems like these rookie cops have seen nearly a career's worth of crap in their first week.

Never seen the show but how can someone be a rookie for 7 years?

Good question. I guess I'll find out.

haven't seen it, but ill watch anything with Fillion in it - that said, Castle is one I just started and it is pretty good so far.

Clint Eastwood & Charlie Sheen TYFYS.

The rookie is worth watching just for the three episodes where it gives us the “Daddy cop” song and Fillon’s distain for it.

It was good except for the last season or so. There were 7 or 8 seasons so that is a lot of good.

My son loves it. I don't get it.
He says it has drama, action, suspense, thrills, Romance.
He likes the Asian chick in it. Lucy Chen or something

Been watching since day 1
I’m gonna warn you.. it gets pretty woke in the episode of the 2020 season ( most shows did sadly ) with police brutality where Brandon routh , the Superman actor plays a really racist cop
But yes I like the characters although there isn’t really any stakes usually, everyone’s safe and nobody’s ever hurt or injured despite some intense shootouts and scenarios . You know everyone’s gonna be alright
Lucy Chen is so fine though.. she has an absolute dump truck arse .

It’s good but you should watch “Real cops react” on YouTube to find out what they say about it.

Used to watch with my dad. The Angela character is one of the worst actors I've seen.
It's an over the top unrealistic adaptation for the back the blue grannies & gramps.
Gearing up for S8

INCREDIBLE movie. Was on jlovel7s tv growing up all the time.
I’m not sure what it is, but baseball just rocks in movies. There’s so many absolute classics about baseball. There’s good movies about other sports, but it feels like baseball has by far the most fan favorites.
ETA: I’m an idiot. Didn’t realize there’s a show with this name
never heard of it.

I watched the first few seasons and it was pretty good. I quit when they had the story line of a black female college professor taught the white cop how much he was wrong for being white

It's fine but not a great show. My whole family likes it so we watch it each week. I do like Fillion and the cast is pretty likeable.

The last two seasons of Castle are when NF and Stana Katic started having problems with each other and it really affected the quality of the show. It became a huge behind the scenes he said-she said deal. She said NF was verbally abusive and made the workplace a "living hell". NF said she was unprofessional and was not prepared and he had put up with it for many years but she never got better. Both had people backup their side of the story.

It's a decent show to fall asleep to. Certainly not excellent drama. The first few seasons were good, had a lot of decent writing and character development that made up for some rough acting.
But they could only make Nolan a rookie for so long and predictably the show becomes a bit of a caricature, just like a lot of cop shows do. Miami Vice, Hawaii 5-0, etc.. one major crime every episode that is usually solved, while there is one faceless master villain they try to find on the side. So formulaic.
Makes me want to rewatch Sopranos or Mad Men becuase those shows were so much better.

Eh I dunno. A few have died/transferred along the way.
For certain, I’d never ever ride with Nolan. If it was raining pussy, he would get hit with a dick. Bad shite constantly happens around him to make the show go.
