I thought this performance deserved its own thread despite Russ ruining the end of the game.

Jokic is going to finish the season with a 30 point triple double average and become the first player in NBA history to finish top 3 in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. Only Wilt has finished top 5 in the just first three categories, and no one has even been top 10 in all categories if you expand to include steals until the Joker.

He had the first 30/20/20 game in NBA history last month, and is even hitting crazy full court buzzer beaters:

Truly an all time great.

Said it a good bit on here and I guess I have to say it again. Jokic is the MVP. He's the easy EASY choice for MVP. Not Shai. Shai isn't worthy of being what Jokic currently is. Don't be stupid and make the right choice in Jokic as MVp. Stop the fricking bull shite.

Insane night for jokic when most are resting for playoffs.

Best player on the best team normally wins the mvp (see: Steve Nash, best record, never the BEST PLAYER in the NBA). Jokic is the better player.
Also disgusting to lose the game after this

the only thing he could do more if "he wanted to" is score. Why does scoring=tGOAT?

All Russ had to do was hold the ball.

Shai is having a better year, he leads in all the advanced metrics and is setting records with a bunch of college kids. He’s an all around better player due to his defense as well.

Jokic accumulated all these stats in a double overtime game, and made more free throws than Minnesota’s entire team. And lost.

Easy when you get every call, unlike Steph. Steph had 52 points on only 8 FTA, in 36 minutes. Jokic had 61 points on 24 FTA (!) in 52 minutes (!). Steph might have had 80 if he had 2OT.

He could put in more effort on defense and win more championships and also play at this level 6+ years

That’s all it would take

Play at the highest level ever seen in basketball for 6+ years you say?

Also, depending on how you define "this level", he's in year 7 in a row this year. Even if you require 25+ ppg, it's year 5 in a row

He's on an insane run right now. He's so damn good. I know Shai is having a great year and the Thunder are the clear #1 team in the league. But this MVP absolutely belongs to Jokic. The Nuggets would likely be tanking if it wasn't for him.

I suspect they'll still give the award to Shai due to voter fatigue. However, when they snubbed him of the regular season award in favor of Embiid, Jokic said, "that's fine, I'll go get the Finals MVP instead". Part 2 incoming?

If voter fatigue was a thing, Shai would have won it last year.
