? This will be his 7th consecutive season making all-NBA. He's been the best center in the NBA for 7 years in a row. AD was given All-NBA has a C despite not playing center in 19/20 (+covid) and the other year Jokic finished 2nd team all NBA, it was because the MVP was Embiid, also a center, who only won the award because of voter fatigue

Jokic wasn't really a superstar til after COVID. Again, I'm giving him 5 years of dominance.

He's 29 and playing the best basketball of his career. If he wants to, something tells me he'll be able to get 5 more years of high level basketball in. If he really wanted to, he could pretty clearly do this for longer than that with his style of play.

You're totally right. I was simply replying to the post about "He could be tGOAT if he wanted to".

I then stated he would need to win some more championships and have this level of play for another 6 years.

I am in no way saying Jokic isn't amazing. I was just answering the question of what he would need to do to get to that level.

What about the fact that Jokic is 2nd in league in steals per game as a Center… he’s the only big in the top 5 of that category… But let me guess they just fall into his lap and SGA gets his (but SGA doesn’t get as many as Jokic) by playing “tough defense”

Hey.....idiot....I said I think Jokic should be MVP. What the hell are you trying to argue?

I think Jokic is one of the better defenders at the 5 in the league. There's more to defense as a center than just blocking shots (or as you would say, defensive rebounds)

Very little playoff experience. No go to guy late in games who can get a bucket.

Second best defense in the conference
Second best big in the conference
Probably 3rd best overall player in the conference
Playoff experience and depth through the entire rotation

I don’t see any weaknesses.

Now do blocks.

Here’s a great 2 min video of SGA blocking which is pretty dang good for his position.

SGA MVP case:

— Best player on best team
— 1st guard with 32/5/5/1/1 since MJ
— 1st in points
— 2nd in steals
— 1st in plus/minus
— 1st in 30-point games
— 1st in 40-point games
— 1st in 50-point games

Only player to average 30+ PPG on 50/35/90% other than unanimous MVP Steph

— 60-point triple-double
— Most PTS in a triple-double

The 1st non-PG to average a triple-double.

Jokic case always was about advanced stats and his backers frowned on counting stats. Now that SGA is ahead at a lot of the advanced stuff, they go to the argument they went against in previous years. I am getting kick out of it. This race has been over for a while.

I’ve been saying for 20 years that rebounds and assists are useless stats

Consensus best player in the world having one of the greatest seasons of all time.

I get why Shai is going to win and am fine with that logic. The thunder fans on here trying to shite on Jokic to prop up their guy are awful though.

Someone else who does not get enough talk for DPOTY is Dort.

Here’s a more complete picture of the Lu Dort Effect. It’s a league-wide phenomenon, basically every great scorer has an off night against Dort and the Thunder.
