If tweet fails to load, click here. I'm really curious to see what happens with the housing market over the next couple years.

I've seen reports where it's crashing already. But, that future was set now with DOGE or later due to federal bankruptcy.

This is probably true, and a good indication of taxpayer money waste

It’s terrible for people that have put their energy and time into building something, but if their revenue solely depended on the fraud that was oozing out of every nook and cranny in that city then it was operating under a false pretense to begin with.
That 40% is still a blip compared to how destructive democrats Covid policies were.

Depends on the market you’re in. DC is definitely going to drop in price with how dependent the area is on federal jobs
I would bet Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas are going to keep rising in price

Makes sense. Sometimes when I’m bored or frustrated with something at my corporate job, I look at businesses for sale online.
The amount of restaurants for sale in NoVa/DC area is insane, and I swear they all went up at once immediately after inauguration.
And they all say “recession proof, strong cash flows”
guess someone’s a liar

Virginia will go back to being a red state.

When I was there in January, I was shocked that DC restaurant prices seemed higher than NY, Miami, and Chicago (actually, not that shocked)

Having gone on a few business trips to DC, restaurants are elegant with ridiculous pricing. They clearly were living off taxpayer visa cards

In DC? It's already imploding.

wait - if they were advertising that then it proves they knew the DC economy was based on fraud and corruption.
No wonder they vote for more of the same at an almost unanimous rate.

DC is very expensive. You can’t build vertically which inflates home and rent prices. Food and drink is ridiculous. I haven’t been back to DC since before WuFlu, and back then a domestic would run you nearly $10 after tax and tip

You mean, ordinary people having jobs, right?

No. They were advertising that because it used to be true. No matter if the rest of our economy was in a boom or bust cycle the government continued to grow and the DC area thrived.

Funny part is the return to onsite work could’ve been a boon to them, guess it just depends on how catering driven their bottom line is.

It seems that with all of this fraud that there should be hundreds of indictments, no?
What are we doing? I haven’t read of a single person being arrested or even called out.

Some of the brands probably are.
But then you’d have to own a bunch of McDonalds franchises in dc.
During Covid they still had drive thru and the delivery services.
