When did LSU fans become so invested in MBB??

When we were making the Final Four, Sweet 16, etc, I never saw this level of passion from our fan base.
Heck I never saw this level of support for WW then as I do now.
LSU basketball has always been, at best, a lower half of the conference program that occasionally goes on a run.
So do we really support basketball now?
Or do we just support complaining… and this is the popular. cause of the moment?

I'm more confused at why every single fan feels the need to start their very own thread on mens basketball. People from both sides of the fence start threads saying the exact same things, instead of posting in one of the other 20 threads talking about the same thing.

We are the fourth best program historically in the SEC. You have no idea what you are talking about.

You are a retard. LSU has a top 5 pedigree in the conference. Any non mouth breather knows this.

LSU has never been a serious MBB team. I’m not sure why people expect any different. For some reason some people believe we should be on the level of the basketball blue bloods.
Basketball at lsu has always been an afterthought to football and baseball

They had a good 15yr run, once. Lol

I'll admit i never gave basketball the same level of attention I do baseball or football; however, even I am embarrassed at the state of LSU basketball. This team isn't competitive at all. It's embarrassing that a brand as big as LSU is at the bottom of the conference and the laughing stock of the SEC in basketball. LSU fans have a lot of pride and to see basketball in the shape it's in with no change in sight is a very hard pill to swallow.

I think you are mis-evaluating "invested" if you are measuring it by the handful of folks on here as being representative of passion as a whole.

Need more Will Wade posts.

Outside of Kentucky, Arkansas and Florida we have a better basketball background than anyone else.
We have more final fours than Tennessee, bama and auburn
Bama has more sec titles but we had the better tourny runs.
To be fair the conference is weak as frick in basketball history

For that and OP I’ve been a passionate LSU MBB fan throughout it all. shite, still giving a frick through 2-16, 3-15 SEC seasons is what separates true fans from the white flagger, might as well bend over and take it pussies.

Baseball was nothing until the 90s people camped out for basketball tickets while baseball couldn’t draw flies

I went to LSU from '85 to '90. We camped out days before basketball games to get tickets. LSU basketball was on fire back then. Nikita Wilson, Anthony Wilson, Vernell Singleton, Baby Face Sims, Chris Jackson, Shaq, Lawrence Oliver, and many others that went on to the NBA. That is the frame of reference and standard that a small minority of LSU basketball fans are coming from. Most of us from that time period understood what we had in WW 3 years ago and what he was building and if not nurtured and supported from the top down how fleeting it was.

Obviously, you did not attend LSU when Maravich played.

Can you define what a top 5 pedigree consists of?

So we’re talking pre 90s?
Do you consider the cowboys good at football as well?
