Cautiously optimistic they're gonna do my guy Robert Anson Heinlein right this time and embrace the pro-military quasi-fascism, not mock it! Seriously, though, the book is awesome and it was done wrong by Verhoeven's ironic and campy take (though admittedly fun and with some great nudity). What does this board always say: don't adapt material you don't love just so you can twist it to fit your own agenda.

Wasn’t he supposed to make an Alien sequel around a decade ago?

The irony is that the original film is supposed to be mocking facism and it certainly does at times but it also accidentally makes it look rather awesome

Militarized Earth is extremely egalitarian, no seeming regard for race, gender, or age. Earth is also shown as very clean, orderly, and efficient.

Are you kidding? The guy seems like a left-wing nut who makes really shitty political commentary disguised as movies.

Neil Blomkamp is a one hit wonder and hasn’t made a movie worth a hoot since District 9

Expect this movie to have a straight to dvd / Redbox exclusive / Tubi original content

Just gimme some mech suits and the drop ship that leaves the mothership before the troopers,
troopers drop to planet in burn away capsules,
land, wreck stuff,
and rendezvous with dropship about to lift off again....

That would be nice...

That's the joke. Today's kids won't be able to process the messaging. It's too nuanced for them.

Amen. Didn't like the original because I knew exactly what I was watching.

Real OG's remember the long-rumored Neil Blomkamp Halo movie that never materialized.

Cool so more like the battle suits we gotten in the latter CGI animations. I do like those but looks like they will get to cast an actual Hispanic Johnny Rico, Carmen Diza, and Dizzy Florence.

Actually, he makes good films with his political view instilled in 2 films.
