Schumer actually being smart here... With the overall support of the public for Trump's actions/initiatives and him being the face of the Dem opposition, he doesn't want that smoke.

Both, her Dad 1st & then her Mom 2nd served as Mayor for Baltimore, which is a cesspool directly next to DC.
