I think I have to update my prediction on their record, I really only see Texas, Tenn and aTm as contenders. It is hard to see LSU even lose 10 games this year before the regionals. This is a hell of a team and pitching is very strong.

Ark Fla Vandy UGA along with the Miss schools are all talented enough to take games from anyone.

Nothing should be taken for granted in the SEC. There will undoubtedly be a surprise team bust out and have a helluva year.

LSU has the horses to compete.

Still figuring out all of the Chess pieces.
I like the way coach JJ is experimenting!
If we can consistently throw strikes — we can easily be a top 8 seed with this team.

I predicted 40-16 (17-13) in one of the preseason prediction threads and in my mind figured we’d be 20-2 (3-0) going into the Texas series. Figured the couple losses to that point would come from the Frisco tournament and one midweek loss so still on pace with that overall prediction sitting at 13-1.

The SEC is such a gauntlet that 20-14 from the Texas series onward is still plausible but if I had to take O/U on that initial 40 win prediction I’d take the over.

Man, it's the SEC. Even the bottom of the conference can take a series on any given weekend. It's just as likely for us to win the regular season conference title as it is we finish in the bottom three. I like the direction of LSU right now and I think we have the pieces in place to make a run, but everything after this weekend will be a dogfight.

I'd feel a lot better if Hernandez and Braswell started to heat up.

Outside of Missouri, I don't think there is a team in the conference that isn't capable of winning a series against any other team in the conference. As bad as South Carolina looked against Clemson, they could still take a series from anyone (though I don't think they could do it consistently).

Mississippi State has one win against a team with a pulse, but they have a friday night guy that could steal a win from anyone.

Auburn has a bunch of freshmen playing really well.

Arkansas' bats are starting to wake up, surprisingly.

Georgia are frauds and their coach is a whiny bitch. And frick Vandy just for good measure.

well we avoid Vandy, Georgia and Ole Miss this year so our schedule is as good as we could ask for. Avoid a few top teams and play 4 of the bottom 5 ranked teams as of now: USC, Missouri, Auburn and MSU

Every team in the SEC is a contender with the exception of Missouri.

We have to face

#12 Texas
#22 Miss State
#10 Oklahoma
Auburn
#20 Alabama
#1 Tennessee
#11 Texas A&M
#3 Arkansas
South Carolina

That schedule is brutal. We dropped a game to 3-8 Omaha who got swept by Tulane. LSU is really good this year, but they will stumble along the way.

plus LSU plays in the SEC tourney before we reach the regionals. Still think LSU has less than 10 losses going into Regionals???

There is probably a very very slim chance of this happening, and that's perfectly ok. But good luck trying to get some of these people to comprehend that.

It's just wrong if there's a sport where LSU doesn't play Ole Miss.

Jesus. You could easily get 3 of those 10 when Tenn comes to town.

Baseball is a weird game. You lose games you shouldn't and vice versa. Remember if you hit the ball only 4 times every 10 at bats you are considered exceptional. Don't count on too many sweeps in the SEC.

Tell me you don't know anything about college baseball without telling me you don't know about college baseball.

If you are right, I will streak one of the regional games. No kidding.

But I think I'll be pretty safe and fully clothed in the grandstand.
