Convenience stores

Let me ask the OT. Are these places the worst or is it just me? Not referring to pumping gas. I’m talking about the actual store front.
It’s always ran by people who don’t speak English as their first language. Let me leave it at that.
The prices are like triple what you’d pay at a grocery store such as HEB or Walmart.
It takes forever to checkout because some bum in front of you has to get scratch offs and smokes. Don’t even think about trying to use the restroom at one of these.
I rarely go inside of these and will avoid doing so as much as possible but when I do go in, I regret it instantly. If I have a longer trip, I will plan everything I can around not having to go inside these places. There’s gotta be guys who stop at one every day for a monster or whatever. It just seems so financially irresponsible to do this instead of buying a case from HEB or even Sam’s.

I’ll always go in to check the expiration on the little Debbie donuts before I buy em

I find them to be very good workers compared to the americans I run into at Walmart or FF places

It is like they charge more just because it is convenient. Crazy concept.

My only real issue is with the fountain drink machine. Its always a crapshoot as to which drinks come out right but there's a high chance the Mountain Dew will always be bad.

You must live in a shitty area.

There are plenty of people that can't plan further out than 30m of their lives. It's not just poor people, either, plenty of OT wives engage in a total lack of planning.
These dumb shits don't even realize they can go to McDonalds/Wendy's, use the value menu, end up with hot food and a drink faster and cheaper.

Yeah that’s ultimately what I’m getting at here it seems like.
It’s feeling at times like it’s more than half the general adult population who just don’t plan anything out. They just go

I can get a $2 sausage egg cheese McGriddle every day using the app. That’s $10 for the work week vs $3 or $4 for a box of instant oatmeal which I’d have to make myself.
It boils down to laziness and lack of planning.

I love how every one in Brooklyn has an expensive "Organic Fresh Green Market" sign now but the same crappy shite.

I used to like going to the Indian ran one.
They would tell the bums to frick off.
Also had a decent beer selection.

Leaving it at just "Americans" eh?

It’s a convenience store. In theory, you’re paying for the convenience of pulling right up to the curb and getting in and out quickly. When you just need a quick something and can’t be bothered with a bigger store. In practice, a very hit or miss experience.

Most of the Circle K's have the self check out machines. Those are pretty quick

Add the people that buy cigarettes or dip at the gas station. Back when my ex-wife smoked on the weekends, I refused to buy single packs. I would buy her a carton, or she could get it herself. Same with dippers, you know you're blowing through a can or two every week, stop buying lottery tickets for two weeks and buy a roll at Sam's.

But that's the thing, you shouldn't need a "quick something," four and five days a week. I get that like rolling into Starbucks, part of it is habit, but when it costs you not insignificant amounts of markup, it's one that needs to be broken. Or stop bitching about how much a trip to the grocery store costs.

Feel like it’s quicker to go into HEB, grab something, and self checkout.
I rarely go into a gas station store, but when I do (usually on a road trip) I always get stuck behind someone that can’t decide which scratch off he wants, has to waste time guiding the cashier to the right flavored snuff, or same for cigs. Then has to count out exact change.
Not to mention I smell like fried grease the rest of the day.

Stopping in one in Wyoming is a totally different experience than going in one here in Alabama. Fast food restaurants for that matter. I wonder why?
