LSU -4.5 vs Sam Houston…

What am I missing here? Sam Houston is 2-8 and lost to K-State by 11 and Nebraska by 5. We have a huge advantage on the mound with Shores. I know 5 runs is a lot but unless our bats go cold, we should be able to cover the 4.5 right?

You are missing the part where this is baseball and anything can happen. Just because K state and Nebraska roughed them up pretty good doesn’t mean LSU will. Even though on paper they should. Thats what is so crazy about this sport.

I don’t think there’s much thought into it. The line for the K-State game was identical. The over the same at 13.5 too.

College baseball is one sport that Vegas actually sucks at. A real degenerate has seen some things related to college baseball. My biggest example is Southeastern being a heavy favorite over Houston in the 1-1 2014 Regional game.

A mediocre(or worse) pitcher can pitch a single spectacular game in their entire career. If it just so happens to be against a team that should skull-drag them, oh well. This is the nature of baseball. It is a team sport where the overall team will determine the success of the season but individual play can determine a single game completely counter to the quality of the teams.

8th game in 10 days for LSU and we’ve already won the tournament. Wouldn’t be surprised if JJ gave a lot of the regulars a breather today and gave some run to the young guys

If lsu wins by ten run rule, you don’t get paid. The contest has to go to completion(I’ve argued with DraftKings over this). So this bet is only for 5-9. That’s the risk Vegas is taking.

Maybe he tinkers a little extra today, but this isn’t really how baseball works… when these guys play summer ball in the cape they play every day. Pitching is the only thing you worry about wearing down, and LSU has a shite TON of pitching.
