What is your households position on left overs? To eat or not to eat?

I am a firm believer in not wasting food whenever possible.
I will take leftovers home from the restaurant.
I will keep leftovers from home cooked meals.
I am fine with eating the same thing for many meals in a row.
The rest of my household is not of the same mindset.
I am the only one who goes through the fridge every few days and takes all random leftovers and makes a meal (usually just for me) instead of throwing them away.
The rest of my household is fine letting them rot.

I do the same. I'll freeze some shite to eat months later if it's too much to finish in a few meals.

Most people that feel that way aren't the ones paying thr grocery bill.

What’s wrong with leftovers?
Hell we ate them all the time growing up. Tell your kids if they don’t like leftovers then they don’t have to eat at all.

That’s pretty much my lunch everyday. Nobody else usually touches them.

We’ll eat leftovers for lunch pretty regularly.
I’m personally not a big fan of eating the same leftovers for several meals in a row. Thats where I draw the line.
Edit: unless its something I can create into an entirely different meal aka most proteins that were cooked by itself.

I meal prep so most of my meals are portioned out day by day. I do it twice a week. So I guess most all my meals are leftovers.
I save so much money and no waste doing this.

I meal prep mine and my kids lunches and multiple dinners on Sunday for the week.
So yes, we are a very pro-leftovers household.
I had a roommate one time that would get take out for every meal, but refused to eat leftovers.
I essentially lived off of his leftovers for those 2 years.

I eat leftovers almost exclusively. I typically cook two large meals on the weekend, then eat off of them for the remainder of the week.

2 working parents with no childcare assistance (outside of daycare). This family meal preps like it’s our job.
Not liking leftovers in this family means you go hungry or get a PB&J!
eta: with that said, I’m about to warm up some RBR i cooked on Sunday. And it’ll be better than any takeout you can get

Very true. This reminds me of a post I saw saying "maturing is eating the pizza crust because I paid for that"

I rarely eat leftovers. I like cooking too much.

Pro leftovers but I’m also bad about forgetting about them.

It depends on what it is. If I grill a bunch on the weekend, I can eat that through the week, no problem. The same thing goes for pizza. Some other leftovers don't hit the same. I'll get tired of multiple days straight of roast, red beans, or even gumbo at times.

Well, the Mrs. is a great cook so I don't mind eating leftovers. She hates wasting food and I don't complain. I have supper cooked most days when I get home from work. She dirties just about every dish cooking but I don't mind washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen.

Depends. Spaghetti and pizza I’ll go over 3 days. A coworker cooks whatever on Sunday and brings it to lunch all week.

After 7 days it gets tossed out.

I'm about to finish up some deer meat and gravy tonight that I cooked Friday afternoon. Been eating on it since then
Wife will only eat left overs for a day or two then she's iffy about it.

Was starting to wonder if we were the only ones doing this. We usually do 3 meals on Sunday with the plan to freeze at least 1 full serving side of most dishes. Then midway through the week, we pull out 1-2 of the older leftovers from the freezer just to have a change of pace.
Anything left in the fridge the following Saturday is either consumed that weekend or tossed; wife won't eat anything, or allow the kids to, over a week old

I usually bring leftovers for lunch. I hate letting food go to waste.
Wife and kids rarely eat leftovers.
My timeframe is one week. After a week, it's no longer good and has to be thrown away.
