This is a dumb “continuity” storyline to generate some interest. Teams with the best players a la Ohio State have the best chance of winning. I’ll take what LSU did this offseason in the portal over the Clemson cult approach.

This may be true but it's a 10-year contract & despite what anyone says the rebuild was/is going to take 5 years minimum to consistently compete for anything of significance. The reason for the 10-year contract, 5/6 years of rebuilding and listening to an ignorant fan base & 4 years trying to win a NC and earn another big contract.

I don't know, revamped the offense (passing) <-- what most cried about when Les was here. He recruited and developed a Heisman QB.
Special Teams can actually field a punt/KO now, so there's that.
The Defense made "some" improvement last season.

Look I'm no CBK apologist but you can't take over a shite team without decent second stringers, into a juggernaut three seasons in. The team is just now building some depth behind a decent group of starters at the majority of the team's positions.

Temper your expectations & "want to believe" the offseason hype if you can LOL but it's a shiny hook. Patience is our friend & we don't call any plays, miss any tackles or cause any turnovers. Its entertainment, enjoy it or be miserable over things you have no say in/control over.

I'm not confident LSU will beat Clemson based off CBK's history at LSU but it's a coin flip today, so I remain optimistic. I'll save my melt till after the game.

If we’re being totally objective, Clemson played a bad schedule last year and got beat by the four best teams they played. Their best wins last year were a come from behind win at Pitt and a game they had to hold onto in the ACC title game against a severely overrated SMU team. Returning production isn’t always good production. This isn’t the Clemson team from 2015-2020. They’ve also been sluggish out of the gate the last few years going 1-3 in openers.

We’ve lost every opener for 5 years running where we’ve been favored in all. The reality check of being underdogs in this one hopefully means they’ll be more motivated this go round and not soft going into the season
