Who is the ultimate “little brother” school in college sports?

Criteria:
- Have to be an in-state opponent/rival. For example, Auburn qualifies as Alabama’s little brother, Ole Miss as LSU’s little brother wouldn’t.
- You can take into account all three major sports (football, basketball and baseball), however a heavy emphasis should be placed on football. For example, UCLA has great basketball history, but USC dominates in football (That said, for all intents and purposes, UCLA would be far from be the ultimate little brother in college sports, however),

Oregon State comes to mind. Auburn has clipped Bama too many times and won too many real things to qualify

A&M
They literally had their baseball coach negotiating with Texas while in the CWS final.

It’s not really a rival, but I can’t think of a wider gap than Ohio State and Ohio when it comes to sports for in-state schools

UCF is never going to get outside of UCONN’s shadow.

NC State is the Jan of North Carolina and the Triangle. A complete afterthought, always behind UNC and Duke.

That wouldn’t really apply. They’re not on the same level, just because both have “Ohio” in the name. Rarely play, not a rivalry. Kent State is worse athletically than Ohio U and is also an Ohio public state university.

I agree. Auburn’s had a ton of success in all three sports, but they’ve even had great success (2010, 2013) during the Alabama/Saban prime run. They’ve got the better basketball and baseball programs as well.

Maybe I should have clarified that they annually or regularly play

NC State has the better football program of the three, but as we all know, basketball is king there. That’s a really good, under the radar pick that never crossed my mind.

ULL thinks it is a rival with LSU
But they have never scored a touchdown against them in 123 years of playing

Michigan State is probably a better example of this than UCLA

It’s got to be Texas A&M.

It’s hilarious when you actually think about what it’s like being an A&M fan.

Texas A&M hands down. There's no contest.

This would be my pick. Their record against OU in football is almost shockingly bad.
They have a couple of basketball national championships on OU, but they were won in the 40s, and the program has been pretty lousy in recent years.
