What’s the deal with the Gulf of America?

I’m just curious what the political gain is from this? Who was clamoring for it and what are we accomplishing here?
I thought Trump was just trolling because he could but now I’m not really sure what the point is.

Did you ask these questions when mountains and streets and military bases and bridges were being renamed?

I feel it’s more of the fact that liberals renamed all kinds of shite: streets, military bases, etc. and we were forced to instantly adopt.
However, now that Trump renames something positive for America, the commie fricks in the media all of a sudden are against renaming anything, because orange man bad. It’s beyond hypocritical.
