I can understand the upset if Trump wanted it called the Gulf of the United States of America.

But it truly is the gulf of North America which includes Mexico.

At least we’re changing the names of places and landmarks to things that honor our country for a change instead of diminishing it.

Three things.

1- it shows who runs and protects that Gulf
2- Trump is trying to restore American Pride and not the queer pride but the Proud American Pride
3- it shows people that when Trump wants to do something, he does it. Makes world leaders and democrats think that Trump is not all talk like the democrats say he is

Bonus - because Trump said so. That’s why. I love it

In 10-15-0 years in the future, it will still be called Gulf of America which is awesome in my opinion

We are the best country in the world, we run things, we can do what we want and Trump is reminding everybody of that. he’s bringing back manifest destiny, which is amazing, and our birthright.
And he’s letting everyone know we are first in the world.

It’s one of the most brilliant political moves I’ve seen in my lifetime honestly and it’s going to work in four years. The whole world will be calling it that. Plus, it reminds the world that Mexico is a dump of a country

The irrational fear of internal communist threat goes back for decades. It’s always been silly and ultimately destructive to our politics.

But Mexico does?

It's not Gulf of The United States of America, it's Gulf of America.

You do know America is a huge arse continent, right?

Go to and central or south American country and tell them your from "America" and watch them laugh.

I’m just amazed that so called “Americans” are upset about this. It’s the brainwashed TDS pieces of shite that watch Rachel Maddow and the view all fricking day because they are brainwashed

When this GOA became official it made TDS people step back and say Woah - perhaps he’s not all talk like we have been brainwashed to believe

When it was named the Gulf of Mexico, Mexico had Texas and the biggest coast line on it. Now, Texas is part of America and America has the biggest coast line on it. It is really that simple. It is the Gulf of America now.

It's brilliant. Trump looks like a miracle worker to his supporters and establishes dominance over his enemies.

Trump's supporters love it, but even they don't think he's serious at first. Then, "Holy shite. He's actually making this happen."

Trump's opponents say, "You can't do that." Then Trump proves not only can he do it but he's going to make them do it, too.

A beta type response couched in alpha rhetoric to make Trumpkins and MAGA type feel better....because Americans have had their asses kicked for so long. We needed to change a name to make ourselves feel better.

No but it’s been the Gulf of Mexico for 400 years, before Mexico was a country.

Mexico is named after the Gulf, not the other way around.

By your logic we should rename Louisiana, it’s not owned by the French anymore why is it named after their royalty?

It’s a distraction that easily diverts attention from the other things he is doing.

Or he is insane and I shouldn’t overthink things

Things change - presidents change the names of things all the time.

If You call it the Gulf of Mexico you are not living in the current reality because it’s offically changed

You did not say this when the left was dismantling statues, changing the names of military bases, changing the names of national parks, lighting the WH up with a pride flag but when an America first president does something to honor and recognize America….”Oh MY GOD….REEEE!”
