The COVID pandemic was the dumbest thing I’ve ever experienced.

I know it’s being memory holed because it was especially embarrassing in hindsight to certain powerful groups, but wasn’t that whole period just dumb?
The masking, 6 feet, vaccine requirements to enter places, etc. Just an insane moment in history. But we never hear about it in the press these days. We don’t have documentaries about the crazy “first days of COVID.”
I wonder when those will start up. Probably never because we’re supposed to forget about it.
Seriously that started up less than 5 years ago and it seems like a lifetime ago.

I see it as a dress rehearsal for authoritarianism. The elites were going to find out exactly how much control the public would tolerate. They made the wrong bet, and now people are coming back to their senses.

Absolute insanity and we lived through it.
Would wake up everyday thinking you were in an episode of Black Mirror.
Covid was horrific in that it broke everyone around you and the gaslighting was off the charts.
Covid was a mental crucible.
They spent trillions to try and break you.
Covid was being trapped in a 2-year live action Twilight Zone episode The Monsters on Maple Street.
People that survived covid and resisted the gaslighting now got PTSD from the shite. Broke peoples faith in humanity at a fundamental level.
Will never trust a motherfricker ever again though. That ship has sailed.

You can’t eat inside it’s not safe so luckily we built a restaurant outside but you’re inside it so you can eat but it’s safe because even though you’re inside you’re actually outside but it’s still inside and enclosed
Also: you can sit at the bar that’s fine but you absolutely can not stand at the bar no sir.

I lost long time friends because me and my family refused to mask or vaccinate. We did eventually get Covid but it wasn't as bad as they made it out to be.

Absolutely the dumbest thing I've experienced. I didn't buy it for 1 minute so it was extremely hard living in a Left Coast city during the time. The most disappointing thing was not only finding out that people can be easily controlled but that they want to be.

In church of all places, social distancing and mask wearing were enforced but the rows of chairs inside were 3 feet apart. Make it make sense.
Was a sad time to see my church succumb to it.

Crazy times, for sure. I never got vaccinated, although my employer at the time insisted that it was necessary. To this day, it has mentally broke some people. You know, the ones who drive with masks.

I finally understood how authoritarian takeovers worked…. Half of your citizenry has to enjoy it. Meaning, it only works because half the population legitimately enjoys using rules to lord over and subjugate the other half, not bc the rules make any sense.

I almost lost my mind. I lost my job and then lost another dream job later due to being a pureblood. I lost my fiancee and all her woke friends.

For me, I lost a whole lotta intellectual respect for a whole lotta people.
And, most people today can’t admit they were wrong. It’s crazy.
We are lucky to live in such interesting times. Keep your eyes open, as I feel like we, as humanity, are on the verge of witnessing some remarkably crazy stuff via the Trump admin as they continue to pull back the curtain ala The Wizard of Oz.

Remember when they told us the COVID vaccine would stop the spread, but you still had to wear a mask even if you were fully vaccinated, around other fully vaccinated people, in a room where everyone was required to be vaccinated? Because the vaccine worked… but only if you also covered your face? And if the mask worked, why did you need the vaccine? And if neither worked, why was it your fault? And if you even asked these questions, you were suddenly a danger to society? Wild times.
