It looks like a bigger rogue
I wish they’d bring back the Xterra so badly. I miss that one so much .

Old ones remind me of the old 4Runners, which were my favorite SUVs for years.

I hope they get a deal done to team up with Toyota or Honda.

they had a great start built on the hardbody for sure

If Nissan didn't have the issues they've had with CVT, their interiors, in my opinion, provide the best bang for your buck when compared against Honda and Toyota.

Aerodynamics for fuel mileage due to epa standards - main reason why all vehicles are pretty much identical these days.

Think how well positioned they were in the late 90s/early 00s to go head-to-head with Toyota with the Pathfinder and Xterra.
Nice work, Nissan. You fumbled the ball on the 7-yard line, going in.

Literally, all vehicles looked much better from 1965-2000.
Look at Broncos.
Look at Jeep Renegades.
Look at Suburbans.
Look at Land Rovers.
Look at Jeep Wagoneers.
Not sure why the auto industry got together and decided for all of these ugly designs that are asexual.

My first car was a 2011 Xterra and I'd have another one in a heartbeat. Did so much cool shite with that car as a young person in Montana. Awesome off-road vehicle that was always ready for anything.

Same with the Jeep Cherokee

Completely agree. My SIL had a 2020ish pathfinder and she had it for a year or two before I actually realized it was a pathfinder. It was just so small and unassuming compared to the pathfinders of long ago. I used to think they were off road capable. That thing couldn’t climb a curb.

Nissan makes perhaps the most adventurous vehicle on the planet, if you think about it.

My neighbor has two of them in the family. They love them. They don't really look like that last photo though. Wish my wife would trade her POS Kia for one.

Women happened
This.
Women became the primary market for SUV. The styling was changed to reflect that.

The sooner the better. Less Altimas clogging up the left lane.

I had the second one. Loved that thing

The pathfinder in the OP isn't the current gen. It's the prior generation that was wildly unsuccessful and considered a failure.
The current gen pathfinder, while not an old school body on frame vehicle, has been very well received.
