I have a 1st cousin and her husband. They quit the Methodist Church (she was raised Methodist) because it was not liberal enough.
My poor brother has an absolute fruitcake Harvard educated liberal step-daughter. Nice as she can be. Could not ask for a sweeter person. Thought Obama was God. Has a trans son. 6'3", size 14 feet in a dress. He was raised around gay rights marches and parades. His father has a PhD in Computer Science from MIT. Brilliant man. He is more liberal than the kid's mother, if that is possible. Since their divorce, she dates black men almost exclusively. He remarried another liberal loon.

There’s 1. And for the life of me I can’t grasp how it happened. Sibling is low key but no doubt conservative. And no one can even try to discuss political topics with the one or it gets ugly fast. Brings up politics for no reason either… even with the most non adjacent issues.

My stepbrother won't speak to his father (my stepfather). He ignores texts and phone calls, and has seen him maybe twice in the last 2 years. It is really hurting my stepdad's feelings. He's 79, and knows he doesn't have long left. But now his son has been infected by the woke mind virus and has pretty much cut him out of his life. Even if my parents were raging liberals and burned effigies of Trump every night, I could never treat them the way he is treating his father.
Sad thing is, I KNOW that when my step-brother gets older, and his dad has been in the ground a few years, the regret will hit him like a ton of bricks.

I have a few nieces and nephews that are liberal, not really the screaming type. However, during the George Floyd/BLM summer, one of my nieces sent her college age son to a march and told us that she did it so “the family was represented.” We told her we didn’t support that and to keep our family’s name out of that shite.

Yes, a brother.
I view it as religion in a lot of ways. Some people quietly live their religion …they can believe what they want and none of my business really. Then you have folks that are so devoted that they have to proselytize….its annoying but I can look past it for the sake of family. Then the last group is the Westboro Baptist type …you are condemned for your beliefs.
He posts all kinds of judgmental political rants against people like my wife and me. I can look past it as to me but cannot take someone publicly flaming my wife (who I know is smarter, kinder and more successful than him by a mile) not necessarily by name but by description.
I am not mad as much as just completely devoid of any desire to interact with him. And the constant anger is not healthy to be around
