While the misuse of Christianity is fair game here (and I guarantee will be what the majority of responses allude to), I’m more interested in pushback to the idea that Christianity is the superior ideology when all ideologies are followed perfectly to their respective conclusions. I’m not concerned with textual criticism (sorry, SM) of any variety. We’re talking big picture here. What is the superior ideology and why?

if not for Christianity, you are mostly likely drawing on the ground with a stick.

It's a shorter list to list all the advancements to society contributed by the other religions.

Christianity, easy.

A faith outside of oneself around which to build families, communities and entire societies with a set of moral obligations, traditions, and rules that value human life, dignity and worth as God's children saved by the blood of Christ.

What trumps that?

Christianity is the only thing keeping this world civilized.

Go look at Stalin. That's modern Europe without Christianity.

There is no moral basis of good without Christ.

Plenty of intelligence in China and with Islam.

Do better.

Was the return of the Savior of the world a net gain to humanity? Yes

Intelligence does not equal a better off world... nm, I think you're probably making the same point.

Net impact - positive

It arguably united the people groups with some of the highest intelligence and creativity the world has ever known. It has enabled western civilization.

It has facilitated the abuse of young children and the murder and genocide of millions.

It’s tough to say but although it has facilitated a lot of evil and a lot of good, I’d say the net impact is positive.

In 2025 though it is utterly backwards and irrelevant, and its theology and assessment of the natural world is untrue and incorrect.

Islam, if it had spread throughout Europe 2000 years ago, probably would have accomplished about the exact same thing… it would have united an intelligent and creative massive group of peoples that would have likely stayed divided and tribal without the political and religious influence.

You can time travel.

You can go back a 1000 years by visiting any number of Islamic ruled countries.

China is good at copying and stealing, they come up with very little on their own.

I 1000% agree. I think it’s a fool’s errand to argue otherwise. In spite of that, there are those who would argue that Christianity is no longer necessary. They argue that we have gleaned all we can, and we should move on. I think the past 4 years are a small sample of what that mindset has inflicted upon an otherwise civilized society. I like a good pep rally, too. But I’m more interested in hearing a solid case for the abandonment of Christianity.

Perhaps you misunderstood the premise of this conversation. Which is the superior ideology, and why?

Positive. The worst thing that happened the last 2000 years was the founding of Islam which is why it was presented to man by Satan
