Explain how ridding of the DOE will help children's learning

I can understand where no longer schools will be forced to teach project 1619 stuff, etc.
But explain to me how ridding of the DOE will help the children.
I'm not talking about less federal dollars of waste, I'm trying to understand how states' control over education will improve the students' learning.
I can see blue states pushing "equity" and social justice awareness (indoctrination) even moreso onto kids without any federal oversight.
And if red states aren't careful, the liberals' big strategy is to take over education systems everywhere (see many colleges and universities as examples), thus the same thing can happen there, too.
The argument that scores have fallen since the creation of the DOE may be accurate, but it's my opinion that this is not the biggest cause. It's societies' shunning of all things "intelligent" in favor of entertainment.etc importance .
Just trying to gather some intelligent input , especially from some that may be in an education career.
TIA

If the DOA doesnt help, its not needed. Unsure what is needed to help.

Public schools need to be eliminated. The amount of money that gets put in those schools for the results is criminal. The teachers unions and bloat have destroyed the school system. The free market would produce a better education.

Preventing test scores from dropping is quite literally the DOE’s only job.
It is pointless if our standing diminishes academically around the world. “Pumping more money into it” hasn’t worked in 40 years.

We went from 1st in world to 23rd in education since DOE was implemented - what other stat do you need? It’s like we spent billions to suck.

it's about breaking the stranglehold the teacher's unions have over the DOE. much harder to bribe one office than it is 50

It won't.

While I don’t think eliminating the DoE is the solution, we also need to have a serious, more nuanced conversation about education not being prioritized in this country, lack of parental involvement, whining, banning books (many of which we had to read in English and in summers btw), and teach these kids responsibility.

Education is paid for locally. It should be administered locally.

I appreciate your sincerity in your question.
Simple answer is the closer the funding to your kids is to you at the local and state level, the more control you have over what is being taught to them. Might it result in higher local and state taxes….maybe.
DOE is nothing more than dollars with strings attached to push national agendas. To get the money you have to comply. Also, my guess is DOE is funding a number of these Critical Race Theory consulting groups that are infiltrating our schools as well.

Has the DOE benefitted the children? No. Our quality of education has fallen below the rest of the first world during the 46 years of it's existence.
Does spending $52 billion annually with ZERO result seem fiscally wise?

100% plus critical thinking and practical life skills. I am all for a rethink of dept of education.

They’re already doing that in all 50 states WITH federal oversight. The whole point is to save at least some of the states that want to be saved.
Second, each state is like a laboratory. You try to draw a contrast of the results in each of the “laboratories” which puts pressure on the failing states to get their act together.

Funny the states were doing just fine until Carter established the DOE.

The restrictions placed on schools by the DOE are counterproductive to educating kids.
The end.
The end.
