I want a stainless 357 mag wheel gun, stuck on barrel length choice

Biggest gun regret I've ever made was selling my nickel plated S&W 686 20 years ago. Now I want a replacement. I want a medium frame stainless steel 357 mag revolver. No real use case. Will probably be the truck gun when we go out west offroading in the back country more for 4 legged protection than 2. Might be a ruger? Could be a S&W? Could be a Taurus? Depends on what I find locally. But I can't decide what barrel length I want. I love 6-6.5" cause, well, they just look really good. The long sight radius is great and extra weight can help tame the recoil. 4-4.5" might be more practical take up less space and be easier to holster if I decide to keep it on the hip in the back country. What's your favorite length for your 357 mag revolvers?

I have a Ruger GP100 4" and it's spectacular. I think it's the perfect length.
Also have a Colt Python with a 4". Have not and will not shoot it.
I have a want for a S&W 629 with a 5". No real reason except I just want it. Already have a 8 3/8" 629 and it shoot wonderfully. Just want a smaller one.
But for the .357, the 4" is about perfect especially if you are looking to carry it in a holster sometimes.

I have 6” s&w 357 k frame. I’d never sell it, but I’d like it better if it were a 4”.

Have a GP100 in 6" and thought it was the bees knees......Until I bought one with a 3" barrel. Surprisingly accurate and recoil is not bad with .38 loads. It has quickly become one of my favorite go-to's.

I have two 4” stainless .357 revolvers, a Colt King Cobra and a Taurus 66. The Taurus is my everyday truck gun. A 6” barrel is too cumbersome in my opinion.

Because it was made in the late 80s and if it's been fired, it has not been fired very many times. I don't want to change that. It was more of an investment than something to shoot a lot.

I have a Ruger GP100 Match Champion, think it's a 4.1" barrel and it's about the perfect size and heft for full-power .357 Mags.

I have my grandfathers S&W Model 66 stainless with a 4.25" barrel.
It's sitting in a custom leather holster with his initials engraved on it.
Sweet arse gun and shoots great too.

The Dan Wesson change-a-barrel ones are very nice as well.
Smith and Wesson is going back to no-lock revolvers. My wallet cannot handle all the cool stuff coming out this year.

Looks like $1k + tax will get me a King Cobra or a 686. I honestly don't know anything about the Colts. $900 will get me a Ruger. Taurus looks to be in the $500-700 range. Not sure of the differences between all the various Taurus. I still think of a GP100 as a $400-500 gun. The problem with doing most of my gun buying in the early 2000's. Several brands I know of as cheap budget brands also in the $400-500 range. Rossi. EAA. Charter. Where is the sweet spot for quality for the $$ nowadays? Taurus's wheel gun reputation better now than it was in the 2k's?

I have a Taurus Ultra-Lite 38sp snub nose that I've kept in my truck for around 12 or so years. I also CC it on occasions. I've never had an issue with it.
I've only had the Taurus 66 357 4in for about a year, but I have no issues with it either. I really really like it, actually.
I'd never hesitate to purchase a Taurus revolver, based on my experience with them.
But I cannot speak on their semi autos. I've only shot one once YEARS ago at a range, and have never owned one.
