Got contacted yesterday by a company. It seems like a possible scam but the money appears way to good to pass up. Anyone doing this? TIA

Doesn’t seem right if you are just now being contacted.

Money is usually really good, but just go through something reputable like Airbnb, VRBO, etc.

I used to rent my house out in Austin for things like Formula 1, ACL, etc. It usually paid for a nice vacation plus some. Never had a problem.

Better hope it’s enough money to pay for all your belongings

Roughly 6 figures for a four nights. The company has to do a tour of the property before final contracts are presented.

Yeah I would risk being scammed for six figures.
Have cameras set up everywhere outside and disclose this to the company beforehand. Get payment up front in a non-returnable form like a wire.

I haven’t ever rented my house out. But we have a vendor at the office that has 2 houses on Augusta golf course. He bought his family home there about 20 years ago and was approached a few years later by espn to rent the property during the masters because of the location. I’m not sure what hole it is on but he told us he was getting over $100k so he bought another house on the course when it came for sale. Now he rents both of them out. I’m not sure who rents the second house. I know he said he will end up with a couple million worth of property and it will cost him nothing.

A company reached out to you unprovoked and told you that they can rent your house for 6 figures for four days but need to tour it first?

Do you want a bunch of Philly Scum in your house ?

No amount of money would be worth that.

Yes. The agent informed me that they would need to assess the condition inside property and review security systems that are currently in place.

I did it back when the Packers played in the 90s. Rented to some guys from Green Bay and their wives. Contact was from a mutual vendor. They paid 2,000 per night for four nights. Was married then, went to Florida for the time.

They left a bunch of cheese and sausage as parting gifts.

Whatever hole it’s on it isn’t on Augusta National.
