Medical disinformation and crackpot advice is out of control

COVID fricked us so much worse than the millions it killed.
The level of distrust of the medical industry and science is out of control.
The CDC and WHO have only themselves to blame for this with their overreach and confusing instructions during the pandemic.
However, the quacks have used this as an opportunity to promote and indoctrinate people with absolutely batshit ideas.
I can't tell you how many people suggest homeopathic "remedies" to me now when me or one of my kids is sick. Homepathy is complete horseshite. The ingredients are so diluted they do absolutely nothing.
And FB is rife with moms who think their non-verbal autistic kids have mold poisoning or some other boogeyman rather than just accepting their kids have a debilitating mental impairment.
This morning I saw a post about flu going around the schools and the number one liked post was someone telling a mom to not give their kid motril but rub a fricking potato on their foot and put garlic in their socks.
We are so fricked. Whether you believe big pharma and Fauci/Gates, etc., are evil, the alternative quacks are no better.
AI is only going to make it harder to find the truth. The Russian propaganda plan is very effective. Throw so much shite at the wall that no one knows what to believe and just throws their hands up and gives up.
TLDR Health authorities and politicians fricked up the pandemic health response so badly; complete nutjobs have taken over as the authoritative voice in medicine.

Now that even the NYtimes acknowledges it was a lab leak, how is no one hanging yet for GoF research?

I don't know if putting garlic in your socks cures sickness, but it's actually a great way to conceal carry in case of a vampire attack.

Even your post is how we are addressing symptoms. I don’t get sick and I’m not depressed because I lead a healthy physical and mental lifestyle.
That’s the shite we need to fix

it's called natural selection.

While reform in a lot of those areas are needed, I'm not a fan of the freeze on the NIH. Especially when it comes to things like research and peer review.
I'm afraid we're going to see the pendulum swing too far in an overcorrection.

Agree with all of the above. Sad

Put down your stupid arse social media, go outside and enjoy nature and smoke a bowl.

No, not 99%.
But there's a huge problem with poor, non-peer reviewed research. Not to mention 2-3% of research papers have plagiarized portions...

Where would you like to get your crackpipe advice then?

It's wild. And a perfect storm.
Our institutions and expert class have lied to us (sometimes for altruistic/explainable reasons, often not) at a time when people (women in particular) are increasingly neurotic and the influencer class has risen to a peak.
The result is a ton of previously normal people being unable to trust experts on significant things, all while fretting about remote possibilities and while an endless contingent of mostly greed-motivated and often unaccomplished personalities sell them on various dangers/solutions/etc.

There has to be some blame, put on the doctors in the hospitalists. They are the ones that carried water for the governmental agencies. I understand they were under the gun for their jobs, but damn, the doctors didn’t even stand up for themselves in a private clinic setting with their patients.

Completely agree with everything you posted!
