Why do people suddenly hate the Chiefs so much? What did I miss?

Is it because Mahomes has easily surpassed Brady at this point in their careers and people are starting to see the narrative Brady was carried more often than not, and they can’t handle the truth?
Is it because of Taylor Swift?
Because of Kelce?
I missed it, but what did the players/team actually do to become so hated lately?
Philly I can understand, a lot of douches on that team and in that stadium, but KC players are more down to earth and more likely to be MAGA.

I guess the ref thing?
I don’t really get it. I don’t even hate the chiefs and they are hurting my team more than anyone

People get sick of the same team winning constantly.

Easy. It’s the bias they receive. It goes against what we all consider to be competition.
When was the last time the refs cost the Chiefs a game of actual significance?

Because the referees hand them games. Every critical play that changes the outcome of the game, the decision always goes their way or a mystery flag appears.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are great. They don't need referee assistance but they get it anyway. This pisses people off.

I don’t remember people hating on Brady and the Patriots THIS much, and they received WAY more carries by the Refs, especially the PI bailouts (not to mention the Rams PI no-call that prevented Brees from beating the shite out of the Patriots in the Superbowl that year)
The hate just seems way over the top.

You die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
People are tired of the Chiefs and want something new. Same as the Patriots and Tom Brady before them. Although I remember when Brady and the Patriots were a quirky upstart people were cheering on to beat the Rams. And before that people were cheering on Warner the bag boy from NFL Europe.

Overexposure and being force fed the chiefs.
Fake PR Taylor Swift "relationship".
Cheating by the refs to have them win and just generally unlikeable team.
Kelce is uber cringe and tries way too hard.

Kelce is average, except superman as qb

Maybe I'm an outlier, but I love greatness and dynasties. Consistently winning like this in the NFL is crazy difficult, making it very impressive to watch.

Why did people suddenly hate Alabama after Saban was hired or the Patriots after they started Brady and hired Bill Belichick?

Kelce is the only reason I dislike em.

I’ve never encountered a whinier group of adults in my life.
The chiefs win because they’re a great football team. They get less penalties because the don’t make presnap or post snap mistakes. They don’t grab facemasks, they don’t horse collar. They don’t do any of the controllable things other teams do. They ended up with 1 less penalty than the bills last night. Guess what, the bills couldn’t get lined up correctly multiple times.
Do they get bailed out by the refs on bullshite hits to the qb and PIs? Of courser, just like every other team in the league. The officiating is horrific and has to be addressed, but it’s not some conspiracy. The Chiefs give the refs less opportunities for the refs to job them, because they don’t make mistakes.
Credit to Reid and his staff

NFL is the new WWE
Chiefs illegally simulated a snap against the Raiders which caused the center to snap the ball without the QB ready. No call.

I'm one of those "pussies" that quit watching the NFL because it is blatantly rigged. I have also stated I like the Chiefs despite the fact that they are obviously rigging the games for them. Huge Andy Reid fan here and I also think Mahomes is a generational talent.
The games are just not fun to watch anymore when you know rules will be changed or calls will be "missed" so they can get a win.
Watching the replays this morning and all I can do is laugh at how blatant this all is, yet you still have the hardcore gamblers defending it.
I'm gonna laugh really hard when they beat the Eagles on another questionable call, or no calls when their vaunted Oline will be allowed to tackle the Eagles elite Dline with impunity.
Enjoy the Super Bowl! LOLOLOLOLOL

"Familiarity breeds contempt". Favorable calls by the refs. Travis Kelce.

Famous baseball story from years ago: Young pitcher just got called up and was facing Ted Williams. Kid throws a pitch. Umpire calls it a ball. Pitcher says, "That was a strike." Umpire says, "Young man, when you throw a strike, Mr. Williams will let you know."
Games have ALWAYS, for decades, been called differently for the great ones in every sport. It's never been an even, fair situation, whether that pisses off fans of the non-great ones or not.
And as far as missed calls, they happen, especially now that the size and speed involved in both football and basketball have made it almost impossible for humans to officiate, and I don't think technology can ever make it metaphysically certain that it will never happen. And to be perfectly honest, I hope it never reaches the point where the human element of error is taken out of it, because the natural extension if people really want to think about it is to take the human element of error out of the players as well by replacing them with robots.
People for decades accepted that "S**t happens." There's so much money and attention and places like this for fans to bitch about things that they don't accept that anymore. Nobody will accept that their team just "lost," there has to be some external factor involved because "By God, my team isn't supposed to lose."
Plus as has been noted this is a Louisiana-centric board and Saints fans have never gotten over Jan. 20, 2019.

People don’t care when there isn’t a dominant team, and they hate the dominant team when there is one
