Amazon Shipping

So I was looking through my order history and almost every order I made since forever was on my doorstep in 2 bidness days.
Since November, all my orders have been taking 5-7 days. At first I just chalked it up to the Christmas rush, but that's over now. Every item that I see with "prime" shipping says it will be 5-7 business days.
Is Amazon pulling a bait and switch? Have they "done away" with 2 day shipping? If so, that's bullshite and I will cancel.

First world problem of the day

Most ships going down the Amazon never return

There aren't enough drivers to fulfill that many 2-day deliveries..
UPS tried to supplement by using USPS for the last mile of shipment but USPS could frick up a delivery from your house right back to yourself

I’m waiting on several orders currently and they keep pushing back.

I’m sure it’s area specific… I get next day and 2 day on the regular. Very rarely am I extended past 2 unless it’s though an affiliate

Are you going to complain when free same-day shipping is normal in 5 years and you have to wait until tomorrow?

It is.
.Young Amazon orders typically take 5 days or so, ever since I moved out in the sticks a few years ago.
Meanwhile, my sisters in more urban areas of the country get stuff from Amazon at a much quicker rate

I had this issue twice in the past. In discussing with next door neighbor, discovered that they did not have the same issue on the same items.
Delete your default ship to address and recreate it.

I’m considering canceling Prime now that football season is over for streaming.
I never get items very fast and you get free shipping if you spend like $35.
What am I paying for ?

Contracted amazon drivers in my area tend to lack in basic skills.
That's my politically correct response.

That's just it. My address has not changed. Amazon is just slower now.
I will try what that one guy said and delete my address and reenter it.

Amazon is a hot mess. I think this woke DEI shite is destroying them. They bait and switch with 1-2 day shipping for Slidell, then when you checkout it changes to 3-5 days. I have canceled many orders just because of that issue alone. They built a brand new warehouse here in Slidell. It is huge, would have really improved delivery service on the Northshore, and up into Mississippi. They never opened it. They still operate out of New Orleans. Deliveries from New Orleans to Slidell never leave the warehouse down there until after 12 noon. I am to the point of canceling Prime since I do more online ordering elsewhere.

I commented in the last such thread we actually started getting our packages too soon. I would order in the evening up to about 9pm and had the option of delivery between 4 and 7am next day or 9 and 12. I had to stop clicking on 4-7 because they were waking the dogs up driving in and leaving. Those are about 50% of what I order the rest are two day and I can't remember when the last time something didn't show up in two days except one package that was lost but I apparently didn't need it quickly because it was about a week before I noticed.
Amazon is like the rest of the delivery services it has a lot to do with where you live. Normally our UPS, USPS, and FedEx are also great but this was the worst holiday season I can remember and they all seem to still be getting over their holiday hangover because almost every package we get from those three is still at least a day late. Our most recent Chewy package via FedEx took 6 days whereas it has always only taken three. I ran out of food on the 5th day and had to buy some locally to tide the pack over.

This exactly for me too. Thinking of canceling as well.

I just had 2 different orders, both delivered in less than 48 hours, so no.

I'm not trolling, but I'm tired of the default delivery option being "5-9AM tomorrow." I'm cursed with having the distribution warehouse less than 2 miles away. I always go for "free digital rewards" for 3-5 day shipping except for once in a blue moon.

Opposite here. The stuff I ordered for Christmas arrived days earlier than projected. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yesterday I noticed everything I looked at said it would be delivered on January 27... I'll make it to the story before then, kind of defeats their whole purpose.
