Both NFL and NCAA.

Just get the ball to your best players with standard play calling in situations that call for it.

Everyone wants to get cute and it damn near ALWAYS costs them.

I will die on the hill that RBs and WRs need to learn to throw the ball out of bounds on blown up plays. RB took a 7 yard loss, if he had thrown it away there are 2 outcomes; an incompletion or a 5 yard penalty for OL blocking down the field and a replay of downs. Both are better than a loss of 7 yards and a loss of downs yet it is almost NEVER done. I don’t get it.

Retarded to line up in the shotgun from the 1-yard line. Have watched Brian Kelly frick that up for 3 years now.

Sark fricked up. he brought in Arch on 4th and 1 earlier and then refuses to bring him in on the 1 yard line with the game on the line

The game last night was some good old school line up and prove you can stop it football. That decision just cost UT a shot at a National Championship.

Toss sweep is dependent on WR’s blocking and for the most part they usually suck at it. Dumb play call there

The problem with your scenario is that if the ref decided it was intentional, they could call it intentional grounding. A WR or RB is not given the same protection as the QB in throwing the ball away.

So you get the spot and loss of down no replay of down.

He’s telling his team you are not good enough to buckle down and impose your will mano y mano on that defense and get one tough yard.

QB sneak keeps you in the game. Instead he calls a toss from pistol. Genius…

But they are usually out of the pocket and even if they call intentional grounding, it’s no worse than getting tackled for that loss.

It would be a loss of down and play from the spot where he threw the ball. Not at the previous LOS.

If you put in Arch, or anyone really, and run a sneak 4 times in a row, I’d give you a 99.99% success probability. Why does anyone try anything different?

Your scenario is precisely why ineligible man downfield and intentional grounding penalties exist.

Being cute always comes back to bite you in the arse on the GL.

Line up in 13 personnel, hell, 22 personnel (I formation) , and just run it right down the defense's throat and be done with it. It's not that fricking hard.

This is the real issue.

The refusal to EVER go under center. 100 percent of plays not under center.

So if you never ever go under center, the idea is if you do go under, odds are the center / QB exchange will be an issue.
