Super Bowl LIX logo designed by a local artist

The NFL certainly got it right when the football league selected Mardi Gras Indian queen Tahj Williams to design the logo for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
The NFL steered clear of the predictable Big Easy tropes — harlequin masks, trumpets, pelicans and such — and went for something a bit less expected. Williams produced and intricately beaded a Mardi Gras Indian patch that depicts the Roman numerals LIX and the Lombardi trophy.
The handsome design embodies an age-old masking custom — sometimes called Black Indian masking — that is rooted in the historical connections between African and Native American heritage in New Orleans. Maskers produce spectacular feathered suits, decorated with mind-bogglingly detailed beaded patches like the 2025 Super Bowl logo.
There is simply nothing more New Orleans, though the design may require some explanation to the uninitiated.

Not sure how New Orleans it is, but I think it looks cool and unique with the texture.

It's a flop and I would've never guess that was New Orleans related.

people will hate it because thats the cool thing to do, but i like it

I would have assumed it was a Phoenix/Arizona Super Bowl given that design.

Yeah it's fine. They're pretty limited with what they can do anyway.

It’s ok. It’s a helluva lot better than the bland shite the NFL did starting around Super Bowl 43, culminating with peak dogshit around SB 45.
Logos used to instantly tell you where the game was played, just like the Final Four logos.

I was thinking the same - a southwestern Native American vibe. But I'm not from New Orleans, so the "explanation to the uninitiated" definitely referred to me.

Got her inspiration from an episode of Antiques Roadshow.

With it being LIX, there should have been a tongue involved.

Would've preferred more Mardi Gras colors, but I think it's cool

I like it - wish it was more Mardi Gras colours though bc this looks more like AZ or NV Super Bowl with the desert hues

Rolling Stones should have done halftime but thanks to George Floyd were guaranteed rap music until JayZ is behind bars. Sad!

It's fine, the texture is cool. This old one is better

I like it a hell of a lot more than the generic arse logos they've been using the last decade or so for some stupid arse reason.

Or Kiss and they could sing Lick it Up at halftime.

It's sucked ever since they went to the templated Super Bowl logo. This one is fine, whatever.

This would like good I think if it was in Arizona (or maybe even Vegas). Gives me desert vibes.
