Mike Johnson is NOT a RINO

I have known Mike since he was in the Louisiana Legislature. He is a true conservative who reveres President Reagan. He quotes Reagan and the Bible when the cameras are not on him
Since becoming Speaker, he has had to do some things that are against his nature. But you have to consider the context. Biden was President and the Dems controlled the Senate. Anything other than shutting down the Gov’t was going to require Democrat votes and the signature of a Dem President
Neither of those factors are true anymore. Trump is President and Republicans control the Senate.
Mike Johnson as Speaker under Trump will look VERY different than he did under Biden and a Dem Senate
I say this with some conviction because I know the man. I know his heart and his thought processes.
He is a GREAT Speaker and we should all be praying that he retains the gavel

Well, he did a 180 on spying for no apparent reason and can't seem to give enough money to Ukraine and Israel. He is certainly not America First.

The problem is that many MAGA true believers would consider Reagan to be
too moderate and even a RINO if they closely reviewed his views and his administration during its time in office.

“America First” isn’t a traditional Republican ideology. This is a very recent development from a movement that is at odds with the GOP “establishment”.
History shows that Republicans have been in favor of using the American military all over the world.
Why else would the defense budget be so high during all of the GOP presidential terms historically?

Did Reagan have some missteps, yes, but saying that he wasn’t conservative is a falsehood by you.

This board doesn't understand that a speaker will have to compromise not infrequently. But, he did not have to cave so readily on that 1,500 page bill that got blown up by Musk. He needs more spine, especially since the midterms are 2 years away. The supposed "fallout" from his standing tough would be forgotten by then.
